95 civic eg cx hatch turbo build 350-400whp
heres my build thread that i have been working on this project for about 2 yrs on and off. collecting parts and getting all the machine work done take quite a while, but its near completion and should be done in about 3 weeks. my goal is about 350-400whp pushing the turbo to limits pretty much since its a .48 exh side. to start off its a 95 cx hatchback that i bought as my first car from a dealership.... bad choice. had some hidden rust covered by the quarter mouldings. now its starting to show up. had a water leak in the back. other than that the car was in pretty good shape. all the work was done by me and my brother. machine work all done locally. ill be posting pics from day 1 to what it is now. first thing RIMSSS 16's looking like a monster truck. install my catback invidia n1 style. carbon hood then finally i lowered it with megan racing sleeves. then moved on to some skunk2 pro's with megan racing LCA. started off with bunch of generic bars. then upgraded each one as i see good deals. iceman CAI which had no problems with rain and puddles i didnt even have a bypass valve. when i took the motor out got the engine bay all painted lamborghini halys yellow. b pillar seat belt bar it was off ebay messing with 6 different washers in different combos in every hole was a bitch. then painted the rear end.

garrett t3/to4e charger with .48 hot side and .60 trim
test fitting all the dp turbo oil return and what not.
all gauges are wired up ready to hook up on motor.
greddy profec b spec 2
ARP goodies but they are dumb. make d series arp bolts 2 long for the fly wheel. rather not buy washers for them as they do not recommend that. so i cant use it. went back using the stock bolts.
rc 750cc injectors
aem fuel rail
gloshift oil sandwich makes life easy and golden eagle vacuum manifold
pounded in the new crank seal(i wrecked the first one)

OBX lsd 9200 looks newer than the v3.0 but i dont know. the stamp is different from the 3.0. i havent heard of any new versions yet. all i know is transzex does tons of these but i havent got a reply from him on turbod16. i pressed in one end of the diff bearing, need to take apart the tranny on the weekend and get the speedo gear on there.

great work. truly inspiring. have had a 95 civic with me for the past 7 years when i bought in the last year of college as a cheap alternative for only a year but ended up making it my daily driver for the past 7 years. great car, truly fuel efficient, and the most imp thing very reliable. have put around 200,000 miles on it. giving a bit of a problem lately but still would be keeping it for the time being. thinking on following with your mods this winter. need some extra time.

Very nice car! I just bought a '92 Civic Hatchback Si and pretty much have the same intentions as you. I've got a question though. Can a car with no backseats still pass safety?
Thanks.
Thanks.

That's really cool! I'm still just learning, but how much did that cost?
I like the yellow, but with the red it makes me think of ronald mcdonald lol.

Re: 95 civic eg cx hatch turbo build 350-400whp
trap - thx, for here in vancouver we get vehicle inspection if a officer doesnt think your car is street legal. usually concerns are like too low, too loud, HID headlights, wheels stick out too far, tinted from windows stuff like that. i did hear something about someone not having rear seat belts but not to many of those. if anything put your seats in to pass and then take them back out after.
steve j - were they car related fine? is so that sucks! ya if i was ever to redo i would be getting a b18b1 and just turbo it at 10 psi and be happy guy.
96civic - if you plan on doing everything your self you save a ton of money but while you learn your gona *** **** up and learning will cost you anyway. if theres something that is really tricky just get someone who knows what they are doin. i think roughly i spent somewhere around 15g's on parts. hmm thinking twice i coulda got my self a TL. or fx35.
azan - hmmm i never read to many problems with them but i may of heard something about oil not getting through well enough but i dont know. ya its cheaper than sleeves first time build so ill see how it goes. i mean you probably dont even need one. unless your running like mid -high 20's psi. theres some good fellows on d series.org that make budget builds but GO FAST. they got built d blocks but dont think they sleeved or block guard just pistons and rods. they are running mid 11's with 13 psi. they use stock fpr and fuel rails but still get wicked times. alot i have on my car was unnessary show.

Re: 95 civic eg cx hatch turbo build 350-400whp
dam cali is STRICT. haha thx i took off the valve cover cause i gotta weld 2 bungs on the back and ill just touch it up after. so today im still waiting for my bro to bring home feeler gauge to measure my tranny so i can piece it back together. so i bolted up my manifold and turbo but having bit trouble with the oil return. its too close and with the SS hose ends i have basically not flex or hose. maybe i need a push lock type hose will work. putting on a temporary VC. bolted the GE Vmanifold and had a FAIL moment. i bolted it up without putting the vacumn end in and firewall was in the way. wired out some more stuff. decided not to use megan FPR, just gonna stick with the stock one. more wiring tmrw. a lot of ppl call this the rainbow engine bay

Re: 95 civic eg cx hatch turbo build 350-400whp
thanks all. yea i take my time and make sure its right. did a lot of research on stuff i have no clue about. so right now my tranmissions is all put together and no need to shim the obx lsd. now i gotta go find my self my bag of nuts and bolts for the mounts and tranny. i replaced all the bearings and seals inside the case. just recieved my goods and had to test fit it.
