Icon2 How to check CEL's on civic with jumper harness.

I have a 2000 Civic Si and have a 0bd2 to 0bd1 jumper harness on it. My question is how do I check the CEL's? Of course on the 92-95 civics you just jump the two wires under the dash and count the flashes, but how do I do that for my setup?

Your check engine light should still blink out the codes. I have an OBDII car with an OBDI jumper harness connected to a P28 and the codes still blinked out..............

How do you make them blink tho? On my 95 civic if I have a CEL the light will simply stay on until I jump the connector under the dash, then it will blink out.

I'm trying to figure out what I need to jump or connect to do the same, because again, I do have a CEL but I cannot figure out what I need to do to get it to blink out.

Read the Diagnostic Trouble Codes Without an OBD2 Code Reader
#
Step 1

Locate the 16-pin data link connector. Connect the jump wire to terminals 4 and 9 of the connector. Turn the key to the "On" position without starting the engine.
#
Step 2

Watch the "Check Engine" light. This light will begin to flash in specific patterns to indicate a 1- or 2-digit Diagnostic Trouble Code. The flashes will be long for the first digit, short for the second digit and blank if the digit is 0.
#
Step 3

Record all the codes given. The "Check Engine" light will display the codes in sequence and then keep repeating them in order. Refer to your repair manual to check for the meaning of the codes.

I have a 96 civic with jumper harness to p28 ecu obd1.... i did it by removing the cover on the passager side where the ecu is... there is a connector there with only two wires and either has a blue or green connector , just stick one paper clip into both terminals and count the cel blinks.. 1 long flash is 10 ... 1 short flash is 1. hope you figure it out !
