Installed new SEAT LOCKS today.
Today i installed some new SEAT LOCKS i picked up to prevent theft of my seats.
I am so sick of theives taking seats, makes me sick!
Anyways, quality is top notch on these!, i have the details of the locks somewhere around, i will find them and post later.
Installation was as followed,
Remove the seat bolt, Place collar on seat rail and install bolt through collar and tighten bolt.
Slide lock with keys in the unlock position (Lock and Unlock is labeled and has directional arrows) over the collar.
To lock, turn keys as marked to locked position and remove keys.
Note: The key will not come out of the lock unless the unit is locked. It’s a safety feature so you can't forget to lock the cylinder
What do you guys think?

Re: Installed new SEAT LOCKS today.
interesting. to bad they're so big, but maybe it will keep thieves from breaking a window if they see those...unless they're after something else. but each layer of security adds to the overall security.
Isn't there a more stealth and smaller/lighter "security bolt" that would work for this?
Like something from this site

you could use these bolts anywhere, bumper, stereo/amps, possibly even the motor mounts (if they make them strong enough like a grade 8)
so how many locks do you have now mr. padlock? haha just messin with you.
i recall a shifter lock and e-brake too maybe.

They are not to big...2"diameter x 2.5"H. Making them smaller would just make them weak. These are made from 3/16" 316 stainless steel and drill proof!

Re: Installed new SEAT LOCKS today.
Prop to you for coming up with something new.
However, if they really really want the seat, seems like they can just saw off the seat rail where you have the lock. Just like sawing off the steering wheel with the Club.
Don't get me wrong, this will slow them down or deter those rookie thieves looking for a quicky, but if your seats are really nice and expensive, this is not going to stop them. If that's the case, a good alarm to warn you is just as good.
I have star-head screws on my seat rails hoping to slow them down, but that's all they can do to someone without a set of star bits.
I guess what I'm trying to say is ... f*ck thieves.

Re: Installed new SEAT LOCKS today.
My thinking is that one of these types of security bolts would do exactly the same thing in your driveway, protecting your seats from theft.
But if your car is actually stolen say goodbye to your seats with either method. I mean is that lock pick proof, vice grip, or cutting torch proof.
what I'm getting at is that you can find flaws in most everything when it comes to car security, if you want to. for the purpose of securing seats I think either method would work equally well unless you car gets stolen.
Those lock do stand out and kinda look like bling (I know they're not, I just dont like shiny stuff period) and the security bolts look like a great stealth alternative and in my opinion will do the same job (and they might be cheaper)
I'm just trying to add to the topic, i'm not trying to prove anything.
