so im tryin to do a mini me on my 96 civic coupe 5spd

i have a d16y7 and pieced together a y8 head

and i just ran into some problems

i purchased a y8 mani but for an auto and wasnt aware of that til a few mins ago, is der a way i can make this work

also i wasnt able to find a y8 obd2 throttle body so i got a b18 obd0 throttle

i know it can work (might be a lil more messy) but wat should i expect?!?

and last, my ecu is a p2n. now im not too sure but i thought it came on an hx ek which are non v-tec, although the guy who sold it to me told me he got it off an ek ex which was equipped with v-tec

please enlighten me wid some knowledge

im in serious need of help

let me know if this set-up can some how work since im completely out of funds now

Is there really a difference between the manual and auto manifold? in fact was it the intake or exhaust manifold you have?

its better to use an auto y8 manifold because the auto has the iacv on the throttle body.. same as the y7 throttle body.. the manual throttle body has it on the manifold itself.. so good to go with the auto manifold.. so you can use your y7 throttle body.. but you will need the ROTOR and SPRING from a y8 throttle body.. rotor and spring is the piece that the throttle cable connects onto..

i believe hx models came with vtec.. but economy vtec.. http://everything2.com/title/VTEC-E

the diff is the iacv is mounted on the mani on the manual and the autos have it on the tb

and ima run the y7 exhaust mani but the y8 auto intake mani

so i can just run the y7 throttle body and just change out the rotor and spring. awesome

i had been stuck on this, even after about 5 hours reaserching

you will need to run the Y7 ECU if you're going to use the Y7 TB.. the P2P Y8 ECU isn't compatible with the 3-pin IACV on the Y7 TB.

the y7 ecu which is p2e, i believe, doesnt come with vtec

hmm didnt know the y8 ecu wouldnt work with y7 tb.. hmmmmmm.. i got a manual y8 manifold on me.. was planning on putting it on my y7.. but im keeping my head y7 too.. would make it easier if we just traded.. haha..
