Default Can I put thinner tires in replacement of stock?

My tires are 205/60/R16, I got a good deal on 205/55/R16.. I'm changing all four, am I going to run into any problems with this? I know putting a thinner tire is going to tweak the speedometer slightly but how big of difference and any other problems?

why would you put this in gdd
1. everything you asked can be found at a website called google.com
2. there is specific forum on this site titled: wheels and tires
3. judging by the cars in your sig you own either acuras or hondas people in the model specific forums would help you much more than the gdd boys most of whom hate hondas

Rather than writing all that, you could have just told me....

This isn't a "technical" issue and it can be applied to any make and model of car, so really it would be a general discussion issue.

are you retarded, he is using a form of humor known as sarcasm. It doesn't matter if this is a general question how can this belong in gdd more than it belongs in wheel and tires.

i think he is talking about the thickness of the sidewall when he says thinner...at least i hope. To answer you question op the differences smaller tires can make is smoothness of the ride (the smaller the bumpier), better mpg(less weight/smaller radius), better acceleration, and it can mess up your speedo. But with the little difference your talking about their will be really nothing noticeable.

sorry guys for answering his question...it would have been much more fun to keep goin with this guy haha.

5.125mm lower profile, man, I don't know, that's a HUGE change.

Speedometer recalibration not necessary.

you really should refrain from using such large words like recalibration in a thread like this. I doubt anyone in here knows what you mean by that. Wow i just took a gander at this guys previous threads... how long does the 72 hr pill last and i am not sure that is even the worst of them

Why don't you just get the correct size tires?

you do realize that we have a tire forum?
'
personally, i wouldn't only because i doubt it would look cosmetically pleasing with a larger fender gap. the speedo change is fairly small and you'll basically be gearing the car lower.

if you really want to save $ it will work fine and isn't going to create a safety issue, just will look funny.

wonder where nsxtasy is, he'll fly off the handle about tire height changes

The middle number is related to the height of the tire related to the width of the tire. So its actually like 10.25mm smaller?
