It's a good layer to have, but don't solely rely on one. And for the OP a full alarm system should be the first mod you get for a car.

It kind of sucks in a way because I have to leave off nice with girls and situations like that because if I don't they know what my car means to me, they know where I work and where it's parked..

Guys make sure you have the best full coverage insurance possible on your R's.

I have taken my R to countless race events with my license plates on and hood popped up during cool downs, license plate in plain view and lots of photos being taking by both pro's and regular hobbiests and fans. I don't get as paranoid as much as I used to. But I still never leave my guard down with the car.

this works for me:
1)Full Coverage Insurance
2)40 Cal S&W
3)Alarm with hood pop sensor/relocated hood wire

i daily drive my R to work and round town, I still keep a eye out for it tho.
i dont go to car shows/meets and i dont do the mall/movies.
comes home and walks a straight line ass first into the garage.

my "R" insurance consists of a lab/terrier (looks like a dingo), a garage, a good alarm, a 9mm, and of course full coverage... I used to be very paranoid... nothing has changed lol

All through 2000 and 2001, I drove '00 #110 as a daily commuter.

I don't think I'd have the courage to do that now, even though the car's not worth nearly what it was.

It's irritating sometimes when driving my R and ricers and moron's who constantly drive wrecklessly ask you "how come you drive so slow", or "you shouldn't have that car if your not going to use it for what it's made for" or "what's done to it?", One of my favorites is "Is that a real Type-R" I usually reply, "why would it be fake, does it look like I'd drive a fake one???" Others ALWAYS think your automatically trying to compete with every other car on the road by saying shit like "My boy's EVO would murk that thing, or some stupid bullshit.

This usually takes place at red lights, some idiot pulling next to me when I'm trying to park, or when I'm in a store, and someone backs there lowered civic with 18 inch wheels and a loud exhaust in next to me outside the convienent store, and has to come in asking me if I want to "run the typie".

I HATE car kids. I try to avoide them at all costs. I probably put up with all this because I'm 20, and still a "kid" and I'm looked at by other moron's my age thinking I have the same mentality as them, ect. When in fact, I'm way beyond them.

Thank God I dont have it as bad as you guys.I have a B16b 98 hatch with hubcaps and primed front bumper and I still get paranoid. I have a "few" layers of kill switches to help me sleep at night...
I also changed alot of screws and fasteners to a "non-typical" tamper proof style. This and some creative wiring with the horn relay and starter relay with some more hidden buttons make it a little more difficult to actually start the car and drive off...
Between all the combinations of kill switches, buttons, starter, horn, main relay, brake switch, and clutch pedal switch, I believe the only way thieves will get my car is to tow it.
Its worked once already when I came home one night to find the passenger door cracked open and the steering column covers ripped off. Stupid thieves left their screwdriver too..

I know EXACTLY wht your talking about. I work at an auto parts store and everyday people come in to talk about my car. Usually I tell them the owner is on lunch for an hour.

That's the same for every "Teenage Rice Rocket" (I'm 18 and I don't even act like that) driver these days. I mean I love my share of slammed civic/tegs with some decent wheel. But some just takes it overboard. I drive a EM2 and stupid Asian (I'm Asian too so NO RACIAL (: ) pulls up next to me with tegs/eg civics and wants to race. I just don't get it, is every Honda/Acura supposed to raced ? I mean, when I cruise with my brothers TSX, same shit happens. It's like "Awwww K24A2 and you don't even wanna run, what a pussy". I just don't get it now these days. Maybe that should be the new "RICE" now haha.
