Icon6 torque converter???

Got a 96 prelude si auto trans. I change out the transmission a couple of months ago but when I took the old trans out oil came out of the torque converter. So I installed the new used trans in with the old torque converter I forgot to add oil back into the torque converter and now when I put in drive the wheels aren't turning. Hopefully I did not damaged the converter or trans. So I thought it might be that I need a new torque converter.

While searching online for a new converter I found there are a couple of different models of converter that matches with different model # of prelude trans. The new used trans that I got came with a torque converter also but when you shake it it sounds like it has loose parts in it and was the reason why I did not use it and went with the old one.

It has been sitting ever since don't want to drive it and cause more damage. Finally I am getting some time to work on it and take the trans off again to see.

As for the torque converter that came with the used trans, does it make that noises cause there is no oil in it or is it a damage unit. I may just put some oil in the converter that came with the trans when i bought and see what happens. By the way what kind of oil is suppose to be added into the torque converter?

If anyone have any suggestion or idea please let me know. Thanks.

When you fill up the trans, the front pump will pump oil into the torque converter. No need to prefill it. If the car will not move be sure you have enough trans fluid and make sure the axels are seated properly. If the vehicle still does not move you may have a defective trans, check to see if the flex plate (flywheel) is moving with the car on.

Thanks, so if the flex plate is spinning while in drive then the transmission is bad. Right?
