Yea, but the 2010 is all new and has been getting great reviews.

OP, I'm on the fence. From what nirvtec and others are saying this could easily be a terrible financial decision. Not that it's a bad car, I have faith in these new cars GM is putting out, but I think we all know the depreciation is gonna be a bitch. If your heart is set on this car, maybe you should at least compromise doing a custom order and take one off the lot. At least you'll have a better shot at negotiating the price down.

New cars always get great reviews, until people start putting miles on them and stuff breaks. The 2006/2007 models got decent reviews on edmunds from real world owners. I tend to go on that over "this car is brand new and drives awesome!"

Hell yeah! I'm waiting for the G8 GT's to drop below 18k, and I might snag one up for my next car. You can't go wrong with the Holden chassis. If you youtube the vauxhall ?xr? from top gear you can compare it directly the G8 since it's the same car.

Recently rode in a new gmc arcadia, if I was in the market for a new smallish suv it would be on the list of cars to consider.

I liked the arcadia very much and thought it was of high quality, did not remind me of mid 90's to 03ish gm interiors.

I see where you're coming from, I remember when the chrysler 300M and lincoln ls were cars of the year. The articles I read on this thing praised the quality and its superiority over the competition though. Time will tell I guess.

I think you're talking about Euro Delivery. You get a 10% discount (maybe 8%?) on the purchase price, which should be plenty to pay for airfare etc. for a trip to Germany, and you pick the car up at the factory and drive it to whatever port it's supposed to leave from and they ship it to the US.

When we bought our Element, we hadto order it from Hona (red, awd, EX, etc.). Took about 2 months to get it.

I got the pricing done via email with the dealership, send them $500 to order it (at our haggled price) and picked it up when it came in.

CLiffs:
You can still haggle/beat them up.

For the OP.

"General Motors' 2010 Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain twins are exceeding sales expectations by enough of a margin that the automaker may have to shell out some serious coin to better-align production with demand."

Everyone wants one (except HT.com based on replies).

Meaning there's a lot of people that like this car. The fact they GM needs to build more because there's a lot of demand means it must be a pretty good car.

Whatever the number can't be wrong.

HT.com is not always right.

Yeah, you realize Acadia's are like $40k, right? For that price i'd be looking at a fully loaded Pilot or 4Runner.

Looks like I'll be ordering one today possibly.. There are practically no other crossover/small SUV's with such a beautiful interior.

Screw that, you could get a CPO X5 for $40k, easy.

Acadias start at $31k. Unless you get 8 seat leather, with 18" chrome wheels, dvd, navigation, sunroof, etc, you're not going to spend over $40k.

Yep. With Honda/Acura products, if you buy for a reasonable price.....you may have a little negative equity. On domestics/low-rent imports the depreciation levels are only leveled slightly by the enormous rebates that they offer because the MSRP is higher than it should be from the get-go.

Even still, the 2nd to highest option (which is the one that's comparable to the 2LT Equinox V6), still sits near $40k, and even with rebates is still several thousand above the comparable Equinox.

Yeah, a base FWD one is $31k. I saw one at the Richmond Auto Show optioned out for $45k.

Like I said, they are "like $40k." What is it with you today, do you want to compare penis sizes while we're at it?

im sure you can haggle just tell them you want all this for this price. and go from there. or similar to a dealer trade. get them to order the car. but dont pay/ sign anything till the car arrives. then start to haggle. you walk with a fair deal and the car you want. or they are stuck with it.

That's the trim code. LS, LT, and LTZ for most chevy models. Then they're broken down into LT1, LT2, LT3, etc depending on the options.
