Default Melanoma FTL!!!!!!!!

So I had to go back to my dermatologist today to get an excision done a spot where I had a mole removed. The reason why is because my pathology report came back as having a severe atypical mole. Not a big deal since anyone can have atypical moles. Well little did I know, that it was so severe that they had another dermapathologist take a look at it. Half of the mole had severe atypia the other half was melanoma in situ. Which means it was the earliest form of cancer!. It was way less than 1mm so it had no chance of spreading. They knew about this for weeks and just told me today. So I got a wide exsicion done and now have a nice 3 inch gash on my shoulder blade.

I never felt so sick in my life when i heard those words. Luckily for me it was caught right away. They scanned the rest of my body and every mole that I have looks normal for now. I have to go back evey 6 months.

Lucky you found out early and it didnt spread.

Good luck with everything. Sounds like they caught it early enough, which is great. I would be a little annoyed they knew for that long and didnt tell you...

Once again good luck with everything bro

being proactive certainly is the best option to avoid any suspicious moles turning into something bad

what i dont get is the original dermapathologist said it definitly wasnt cancer but the next level up was. The second dermapathologist said half of it was melanoma in situ. Whent he report came back to the orginal dermapathologist he didnt agree with the assesmant and said and noted to my doc that he definitly did not think it was cancer and my doc said he's always been right but they had to treat it like it was.

I hate these topics!! I have a pretty good amount of moles so it makes it really hard to keep track of them so it freaks me out to think I could have some cancerous mole without knowing it.

Good to see that they caught it early. My ex's dad had some funky shit growing on the top of his head and had it checked out and the doctors caught it early in his case as well.

Cancer is an ugly way to go man. Knew a guy that was taken in 4 months. Found out way too late.
