Preludes dont get jacked. The motor still needs mounts and shit for a Civic/Teg and nothing else fits. Unless thieves start driving 90-02 Accords as much as 88-00 Civic/Tegs then there's nothing to worry about.

Preludes have gotten stolen, but I wouldn't call them a High Theft Target. There are many many cars a thief will hit 1st.
Prelude's NOT on the Top10 list like the Civic/Integra. 3 people I know have had stock/auto unmodded Civics stolen in the last year or so.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I just have a stock DA now and never worry about it, but I want something newer.

its hard to steal a 5th gen unless they have a tow truck because of the imobilizer... or a p13 with obd1-obd2 conversion harness handy

It seems like thieves would target an OBD1 car w/o the immobilizer.
I know thieves are carrying around their own ECUs to steal the RSX/CivicSi/S2k

i went through hell and a day replacing my immobilizer system (long story
) but with that thing in there i find it pretty easy to believe it would be more work than its worth to steal a 5th gen

not alot of people are familiar with preludes anyways. alot of people know that parts are scarce for our cars so the best option (hahaha) would be civics and integras. ex. my friends had a tough time taking off my front bumper!!!

Yeah, don't worry too much. The 5th gen prelude is a great choice when it comes to theft questions. I don't have any worries about someone stealing mine. If it does bother you, you can always put a good security system on, like I did. With my lude being ten years old, I still get compliments on it. And the often question, "what kind of car is that?"
