Unfortunately i cannot say ive built this car to the point you see it at now, but i dont intend to leave it the same as when i bought it. Many of you have probably seen it on here before, there are numerous build threads dedicated to its construction. Now im picking up where the previous owner left off so another buid thread is in order!

Here's the car when i bought it.

First thing first, the car when i purchased it was untuned because the motor was still on the break in cycle. So i took it to the 1,500 mile mark then did an oil change. While in there i checked the oil for any metal shavings, checked the pan for shavings with a magnet, looked inside with a bore scope, and cut the oil filter, took it apart and inspected its internals. Everything was legit, oil pressure was still phenominal, so it was time to tune.

Other than some minor issues on the dyno, it was a straight tune with no major problems.

Tuner - King Motorsports of New Berlin, WI

Numbers---

385WHP 285Ft lbs torque at 13psi - Wastegate spring
460WHP 340Ft lbs torque at 18psi
570WHP 440Ft lbs torque at 28psi --- 112 octane race gas

Much more to come so enjoy!!!

^ Moron.

Saw the previous owner trying to trade this for just about anything on the board seemed like he really wanted to get rid of it which came off kind of shady. Glad to see you had no real problems and the car put down nice numbers. Whats in store for it from here on out?

I understand where your coming from with the bought not built thing, but you gotta take it from my point of view. Im 20 years old, work in a restaurant and go to school full time. Ive built numerous cars since i was 17, money was tight and it still is. I recently fully built a D16 in my old EG hatch. It cost me about 4K to build the motor, not to mention other upgrades i had to do. It spun a rod bearing maybe 5 minutes off the dyno, due to tight clearances on rod bearing #4. I didnt want to build another motor and waste a ton of money. I found this car for a great price, so i sold my hatch, my turbo kit, what was salavageable from the motor, then got a loan for the rest and picked this hatch up. It was too good to pass up, so yes its bought, but i intend to take it much farther, which is better than just leaving it how i found it.

Near future plans

Gonna do a custom cage, havent really decided on the design yet, ive been checking out some other cages and want to make some designs around those. It will most likely be a 6 point.

Working on down grading the brakes. I love the big brake kit, but unfortunately i can only run a 16" wheel and i want to be able to run a beefy slick at the track, so i need brakes that will allow a 13 or 14 drag wheel.

Brake line tuck for sure. Not just for the look, but if you take a look in the pics of the engine bay you can see how much heat is produced by the manifold, its gets to the point where it boils the fluid in the lines and i get brake fade.

I will atleast be repainting the front and rear bumper, then i will buff the whole car and pick out some of the minor dents. If i dont like how it turns out, i will repaint the whole car.

Once the brakes are finished, i will be getting new wheels. I personally dont like the look of a 16"+ wheel on an EG, they look goofy in most cases.

Will be installing an ECU kill switch, for anti theft use, as well as a turbo time with anti theft on it.

Also will be workin on doing a better job on a wire tuck, mostly inside the car because all the wiring takin from under the hood is pretty much cluster f*cked on the passenger side.

Ofcourse these are just plans in the next couple months. So ive got my work cut out for me atleast through winter.

Unfortunately i had a little bit of bad luck right off the bat, but it could have been worse.

Off the dyno, even a little before hand, i noticed the car would smoke a bit at idle or after a pull in boost. At first it was almost un-noticeable, but in the coming days it got much worse. Smelled like burning oil. I immediately checked my oil level, it was fine, havent lost a drop. This exact same thing happened on my previous car, it was a blown turbo seal. Sure enough when the turbo got warmed up, i checked it for shaft play. Pretty obvious, the play was so bad, the turbine was just about grinding on the compressor housing. So i pulled it off and sent it to precision.

Theyve had it for more than 2 weeks. Still havent taken it apart, so i dont know what caused it or how bad the damage is. Supposably they are gonna give me a call monday or tuesday and tell me what caused it, the turbo maybe had 2,000 miles on it. Im hoping they will warranty it!

Wow, that is a monster of a setup. I aggree with the person above about building the car and not buying it but it sounds like you got a hell of a deal on a car that has a lot of nice parts on it.

Are you planning on upgrading the fuel pump setup at all??

It's cool to build a car from the ground up but makes much more sense to buy it when someone else has already taken the initial hit of the swap/build/boost whatever. Good luck man. EG hatches are best in white.

I doubt ill upgrade the fuel system anytime soon. Tuner had no problems with the 255 pump and i dont plan to up the boost so i dont really think its worth the money at this point in time. Once i get used to it on slicks, im sure ill have a solid 10 second hatch no problem, which is all i really want. I love K pro because i can set numerous duty cycles instantly to change my boost level through the hondata boost controller. So on the street i run the 13psi level, 365whp is plenty to mess around with. Ill be pickin up some drag radials this week with my new wheels for street use.

That manifold itself is 1 of 2 made. The previous owner, his dad, and brother do there own custom fabrication. It's there own design. There also other one off pieces on the car with the Kong logo on them.

Well, precision still has mine, its been about 3 weeks. I called them about a week ago and they said they should be able to take mine apart by today. If i dont get a call by tomorrow, ill be calling them. Persistence pays off eventually.

UPDATE>

Will be taking care of removing the big brakes and installing the GSR brakes to make room for some slicks. I picked up the last of the parts i need. Pics will be up this evening.

The Difference is obvious ^^^

Unfortunately, i didnt know that with the GSR brake conversion, i needed to replace my OEM spindles with GSR spindles.

So i picked up a set from a local performance shop. One had a bad ball joint, so i switched it with a good one from the old spindle.
