I think the practical definition has become, for all intents and purposes, the same as the dictionary definition. In our modern society, the overwhelming majority of people understand that race is almost entirely superficial, and unrelated to the individual's personality, who they are.

Really, it all boils down to cultural upbringing.

If a 4th generation America (asian chick), who comes from a wealthy Chinese family that doesn't give a f*ck about asian culture or language, gets together with a 7th generation America (white guy), the interracial part of the relationship holds no meaning, even though it is technically accurate.

thats true. when I say no interacial, mean I'm not going to be with your typical stereotype black girl, asian, spanish or anything. I dont even care for "country girls" or any girls with annoying accents "up north".

So I guess it doesnt really matter all that much.

Yes i have, dated a colored girl in high school. I went to a high school where whites were a minority, 5 or 6 percent out of 3500. I am married now and have been for 24 years, to a white woman.
When someone says they would not date someone of color it makes me wonder why. Dateing is about finding someone who you get along with and have things in common with.It should never be based on looks. Mark
