Does it have a clean title? Is the service up to date for a car with 101k on it?

$8500 is a pretty decent price for a stock ITR if the title is clean, even with 100k. There is a fairly extensive amount of service at 90k including timing belt/water pump/tensioner etc. May want to know if thats been done or not.

It is a good deal if you can live with the rust on the rear quarters. He sent me pics a few weeks back, but I could not live with the rust.

Looks like a decent car. The rust isn't something you'd have to live with if you intend to get it rapaired the right way. If so, that shouldn't be what detur's you from buying it. But for that price, you'd be crazy not go to for it. I paid 14.7k for my phoenix yellow '01 ITR with 102k on it, body is mint. But I got it from the original owner, and yellow is more common then black is for that year anyway. I say pick it up, it may be worth something in the long run. Remember '01 is the last year of production, and black is the rarest color for 00-01.

Think this car is gone, or on it's way out to another guy who already owns an R, and his GF wants one.

perfect candidate, picking up a R at 75% of the book value declared by my bank/insurance company.
win. Plus if this stayed up north for another winter it would be a pile of crap, I'm going to save it.
