thanks this is excellent info, I kept reading about rs pistons but didn't realize that was a company that made pistons, I'll probably be going this route.

gee, what a way to treat a guy who hooked up with your motor....where's the love man, where's the love!?

lol. but i'm gonna have to agree with pr3 pistons. it seems to be a popular choice for all motor ls's and seems to work great

I'm eyeing up some pr3's. Do you guys think I'll be safe with used oem or do you think I should put out the extra $80 to get a set of fresh rs pistons??

usually used ones are ok. there are exceptions to this but generally speaking you're alright. just make sure you look them over good before getting them

yes but I stop arming it because the alarm got tripped a few times in the night and I didnt want to annoy the neighbors. I often wonder if that was the work of a thief tripping the alarm waiting for a response...

Update: I got my block on the engine stand and stripped what was left on it. It was fiiiiilthy. I've got about half of it cleaned but there's stuff on there that I'll never get off... I'm hoping to be done cleaning it tomorrow. I'm in the process of getting a salvage title which needs to be done before I can get the check for the car and the car itself, so that's where I stand with that.

damn sorry about the car being stolen, they tried to steal my gsr last week they probably thought it was going to be a cake walk since i dont fix it up(just has rims and lowered .75) but i have a stealth alarm install

first thing they do is pop hood to cut the siren/or remove battery cable so they can work in peace....well as soon as they popped my hood they couldnt find siren to cut then they remove the battery cables and that didnt do anything they gave up right there and ran off, i have a pager so it also told me it was going off

if i were you i would to to the audio/security forum and read up on stealth alarms it 100 percent saved my car the only way there taking my gsr is if they get a tow truck GARUNTEED
