Default Stock SI Flash Pro - dyno

Couple months ago I was asking here and on 8th Civic if anybody dyno'd their stock car with reflash or Flash Pro. I was told it's waste of money because you need at least intake or header or exhaust otherwise I would loose power!
I knew that's a crap, so here are my numbers:
08 bone stock SI with K&N drop in air filter all 3 runs were done on the same day at 80F and 600ft. The modified map had only less fuel around 13 and smoothed out timing maps and cam angles.

I think it's definitely worth it, 5whp at top end and around 15whp at the Vtec from 6000rpm to 4300.

Cool, I was waiting to see if anyone FP'd a stock Si. if i remember correctly though hondata's website does say that for a reflash you will lose power if you reflash a bone stock Si.

you do know that the reflash configuration and the map tune for a stock si are different right?

The flash pro is different then the Reflash. The reflash was a base tune for ppl with the bolt on mods done. Flash pro is fully tunable and much better then the Reflash.

you missed the point.

we're talking about the actual calibration itself, not comparing the 2 products.

Interesting.... So On a Dyno Dynamics you put down stock with K&N and FlashPro 178Hp. This is good to know, I put down 174.2 with a K&N drop in and Buddy Club exhaust running E85 NOT tuned. Lets me know there is GREAT room for improvment on my car.

Thanks for the post up OP!! It really helped me a lot.

You seem to be trying to go two directions at once. Why go e85 if you're seeking performance gains?

Tuned right it has great gains. More so for forced induction. I don't use e85 all the time. If I continue to use it, I will do the necessary mods to support it "Injectors, FlashPro, Fuel pump"

I also feel like I should apologize to Hondata. I thought their supplied maps (especially ignition) was pretty messed up, based on my experience with S300, Crome, AEM etc.
I datalogged all runs and had no knock count. And my modified map (took some timing out in some areas and made it leaner from their average AF 12.3 to 13. As you can see it made almost no diference in the curves.
Next I'd like to get a header and do the dyno again. But unfortunately with my finances I have to wait after winter.

I'm glad to see that. I only have an intake and muffler on my Si and have been thinking about getting the Flash Pro mainly to lower the engagement of the vtec. I'm not going to be doing many mods for a long time though and was worried I would lose power and it wouldn't be worth it to get. Thanks for the post.

Did you actually tune with flash pro or did you just mess around with some maps?

Do you know anything about E85? You can get more power tuning with E85. Additionally you can also tune for fuel economy and tune for power AT the same time.

The main benefits of using ethanol for fuel is lower emissions and and lower fuel prices. MPG are slightly lower using E85 because more fuel has to be used.

Good thing someone finally did it. Thanks for the post. It seems really risky though...spending what is it like $800 for flashpro when Hondata claims it would lower power if you're stock. That was very ballsy move, sir.

Not for me, I used to tune cars for living and worked for shop that was authorized Hondata dealer, so I actually had a good deal on it.
I'm one of these guys that rather first spend money on tunable EMS before starting modify a car just to get a full potential out of it.
And yeah somebody was right before, Hondata said you'll loose power with Reflash only on stock Si , they didn't say it about Flash Pro. My bad.

How come your Max RPM is dropping off at 7,800 on your 1st 2 pulls? Si Redline is 8,200 stock.

hondata said that about using the reflash with the stock motor because it wasn't tuned for stock motors; with the flashpro you can tune it for whatever you may have, including a bone stock motor.

op: maybe i'm just blind, but i'm not seeing any numbers with the stock ecu for comparison. i'm not planning on modding my motor anytime soon but i'm sure some midrange power can be picked up with the flashpro so i'm curious about what results people have had.

I guess he let go off the throttle little sooner, also this dyno didn't have rpm pick up, only was set up by load. So the rpm may differ by as much as couple hundred rpms.

Any guess why torque decreases on the low cam as engine speed increases? I think with some VTC tuning on the low cam, you can boost midrange quite a bit.

That is, unless the cam profiles were designed to give an early peak low cam torque.

Do you mind posting the ignition and VTC map?

7800 is peak hp. im guessing peak hp raises once u do mods. cuz i know mine was higher than 7800. but also, idk if any of you with fp have driven with the tach on the display. i noticed when i cruise at 3k, it showed different on the fp. it was a couple hundred rpm off. i think the gauge cluster is off and the fp is correct.
