do the strut test
i had a bad wheel that blew out my strut, i did know what it was and then two motor mounts and a strut later it ran smooth. that tire did some damage in such a short period of time. a very important thing to look at before driving any further is to check your bushings attached to your lower control arm. if the bolts came lose the braking and accelarating will be really bad. just some other ideas to what might be causing this shaking. |

ok cool ill look at that. you think the lower control arm would cause the shake ? if so ive been driving like this for 3 months lol it only shakes when accelerated hard but normal driving its not that bad. strictly from the left side also. the left headlight bulb shakes when i give gas..

bump, I currently have the same problem. mine shakes between 30-50mph during acceleration only.
tires are fine, rims are fine, new clutch & flywheel, new wheel bearings, new halfshaft, mounts are fine.. replaced axles 3 times on each side. I think its either a bad diff bearing or my clutch/pp/flywheel is messed up.

What about the other axle? Grab hold of the axle near the inner joint and (aggressively) wiggle it up and down. If there is any movement. Its bad. And dont use remanufactured axles. Buy new ones.

if it is truely a shake(rumbling with no loss of power) and not a stutter(quick losses of power). then don't waste your money trying ignition items.
sounds like your axles are binding. is you car slammed? the right way to check your axles is to jack up your car under each front control arm to make sure it is at ride height, remove the axle nut and push the axles in. you should have around 3/4" movement. if you have less then it is most likely binding. if you can push the axle in where it is completely inside the hub then your axle is to short. in most cases it will be to short for how low your car is. if it was you flywheel it would shake even without moving. just rev you car sitting still and if it doesn't shake then its not the flywheel/clutch. |
