Default First Attepmt: JDM ITR Hood Protector

After searching around to see if a JDM ITR front end cover (Bra) was produced, I didn't get any results so here goes my attempt in "Fabricating" one. I've heard about the "Invisible Bras" out there but I enjoy putting in the time and effort to make something that I've personally never seen before.

If anyone has pictures of a JDM ITR hood bra that has either been custom made, or of an OEM/Aftermarket piece feel free to post. I'd be glad to have some reference in this...

With that said heres some pics.

I took some measurements on the hood and started out with a 3 piece template. Below is the material I'll be using.

Then turned it into a one piece template.

I gave the whole template a ~1" extension to give some room to create a seam.

Here it is transferred onto the "Pleather."

I couldn't get a very good photo of the Vinyl/Pleather detail but i'll snap some tomo when I begin the stitching process.

thanks for looking.

i have a complete front cover for my rex and love it. in for some completed pics. just a thought but could you modify one from an accord, they appear to have similar shapes. to me anyways.

i've known people to use the accord fenders for their ITR conversion cuz they say the fenders are way over priced.

just cuz the fenders are similar, doesnt mean that the bra off an accord would fit? haha

didnt really make any progress today, i have both vinyls cut and ready for stitching this weekend. thanks for the bumps everyone.

EF: im going to try my best to. it would be good to have some kind of reference you know? of course ill have the seams. im gonna use a felt/wool type material on the inside lining of it. still working on the underside of the bra. i have the elastic bands and hooks ready. the only thing it wont have that oem bras do, are those to little triangle hump things that come out for the top of it.
