Transmission Whine noise 96 integra
so i have a 1996 acura integra. Before doing my own clutch change i had an oem clutch in there that was gripping anymore and woudlnt let me move the car.
previously did some high end rpm racing and noticed when in neutral sitting still there is a lound rumbling noise coming from the tranny.
when i push in on the clutch as if i were about to change gears it goes away and is silent.
So i went to work and tore the tranny off the engine cleaned everything and replaced a new throwout bearing, 9.2 pound flywheel, stage 3 racing gripforce clutch and pressure plate, new pilot bearing torqued everything greased everything and put it all back together.
everything is in mint condition now and im about half way threw the break in period.
Everything is fine except the noise is still here.
My only guess is the input shaft bearing or whatever.
Question is do i have to take this tranny back off again and if i do, how do i get to the input shaft bearing??
any diagrams or how tos in disasembling the tranny and getting to/fixing/replacing this part?
Or is it okay to drive on for now? would u recomend it holding up to a 3 day non stop roadtrip cross country?
im stumped...

I had the same thing happen to my D-series trans. I drove on mine for a year or so with the noise. It was getting worse and worse, so when I replaced the clutch I had it fixed. I found that when I spun the input shaft it was still making the noise (meaning it was more than just the throw out bearing). I took it to a trans shop and they replaced the bearings inside the trans and have had no noise since. That was about 16-18K miles ago.

Re: Transmission Whine noise 96 integra
did you change ur throw out bearing? it could be the input shaft bearing but if it was fine before the clutch job i dout if it goes away with the clutch depressed probably the throw out bearing
