My build thread
Hey guys. I dont post alot when im on HT but im going to make a build thread. I usualy get on about twice a day so its going to take me a while to ansure peoples questions when it come to my build. I hope you like it.
To start off i have had two Kseries CRXs that saw nothing but track days a the strip. The have been done before so when i desided to start my own business i desided to do somthing Differnet! I will be doing a F to K swap. Now as far as i know im the 4th or 5th person to do this swap but the first in a CRX unless somone else out there has done it. I bought a wrecked 04 S2000 and traded the drive train for the items i need to do the swap. This build will be VERY slow because everything is Custom made and sence im not making the parts i have to wait for the shop im using to set time aside to make the parts.
I do NOT have alot of money to spend so between now and winter timei will only be doing the following. i wont be doing some crazy paint job anytime soon. i will only be doing the following.
Custom mounts
full suspention
brake line tuck
wiring harness tuck
And all that needs to be done to make it run
Here are a couple pics for everyone to see.
Here is the car when i bought it. I actualy drove this car around the block and onto a trailer. Didnt pull at all
Here are some pics of the car i bought for $600 it had been sitting in a friends backyard under a tarp sence its last VA inspection in 7/07 You could say it was a good find.
Here are a couple of pictures of the Motor.
the two top bolts hold the trans on and there are two holes half way down that go threw the trans and the block to hold the trans on tight.
I will post alittle more every couple days.

Re: My build thread
Another thing i did while I am waiting for my mount brackets to be made was installed 96 type R brake conversion. The reason im doing this is i have a set of BBS rs wheels that are 4x 114.3 off a legend. im getting to put 2'' Kodiak lips to make them 15x8s. That will probably be the last thing i do to the car before it runs. I ordered a set of Hardrace trailing arm bushings that i installed that seem to be pretty nice. I dot a set of DA knuckles as well that i will have to use for the 96 conversion and ill be using the stock S2000 calipers with stock rotors. I will post up pics when i get the hubs machined.
All of my mounts should be done by the end of the week. I will post pictures when the motor is sitting in the car.

Re: My build thread
Hey just a quick update. I have more bad then good news. Our modified hasport trans bracket for a k swap was finished for mock up purposes. looks ugly but we wanted to get the distance right. there is about 1/4 inch of space all around the trans from the frame so it came out really good. It will go back to the machine shop to be 100% remade so it will look perfect.
The bad news is we notched the rear sub frame but it wasn’t enough. some of the outer case bolts are resting up on it so it will have to be re notched. Also I wanted to buy a hasport rear sub frame bracket for the swap and then just lengthen it where i would need it, well my fabricator was just like “ill just make you one”. well now the mount doesn’t fit right and its all squeezed in. Im really about to give up on this fabricator. Im at a friends house so i cant upload any of the pictures but i will later tonight when i get home.
Keep watching

Re: My build thread
Here are some of the pics. as you can see this is how its sitting as of now.
You cant really tell but there is about a 1/4 inch inbetween. bracket looks like **** but will be fixed.
Crank pully i should be able to get off without having to drop the motor haha but the Vtec Solenoid i will have to make room for.
and lastly the motor is almost perfect but i will not be able to make it right till i fix the rear subframe.

Re: My build thread
Took a couple pictures today of what it should look like by the end of next week. I dont care about hood clearance because im probably going to not use one at all but the Tbody clearance is shitty. im going to have to cut away the headlight housing for sure to do this swap.

Re: My build thread
^ thanks. yes im really excited. today after taking the pictures i dropped the rear sub frame so it could be modded again for clearance and a new rear mount bracket will have to be made since the old one didn’t fit right. After that the traction bar will be made witch will integrate a bracket for the front motor mount.
Also i bought new wheel bearings for my DA knuckles. i will take out the 4x114.3 hubs out of my 96 ITR conversion and get them machined to fit. Ill be getting that done next week. As always i will post up when something new happens

Re: My build thread
yep, thats where i got my "project daily beater crx", you know, the other build thread you've been following lol. i was one of few people to know this build existed before he started this thread
lmao. no, an actual socket. im pretty sure i left it there when i picked up my crx shell that i bought from him. had to install the front cross member before i could tow it home and took my own tools along with me, but unfortunately, my 12pt 17mm socket didnt seem to find its way home with me
