Update: Well anyways after making the thread the last time. Dave and I talked over the phone the next day. He said he would send a check out. Shortly after.. I emailed him a couple of times to see if the check got sent out and also asked for a tracking number. On 5/13/09 he hit me up with an email saying it got sent out but no tracking number. Almost a month later stilling nothing. Been calling numerous amounts of times (on his personal cell phone). After calling he would text me back and say he would try to call me back later. But I havent gotten a phone call yet.

I didn’t want to make this thread but I’ve simply had enough. On February 2007 I purchase 2 Spoon n1 exhaust and 1 Spoon b pipe from Dave. He told me that the B pipe is a 3 months wait and so I told him that is fine. I trusted him since I bought a set of work equips from him before which took 5 months to come in. As time goes by I wait and wait. Now 5 months goes by and I don’t see anything. Send him a bunch of emails to see what the deal is. He tells me “the next spoon shipment is coming in Aug (soon). The rear sections, from what I was told, have been on back order. if they aren’t on this next container, we can cancel the order.” So guess what happens. Nothing comes in the next 2 containers and no refund.

At this point 3/26/08 I file a dispute with pay pal but no luck since a whole year has passed. He quickly replies and ensures me that I will get my parts. Fast forward a couple more months now were at march 2008 still no parts. I get an email on the 27th that all my parts will be there the next Mon or Tuesday. Yet again still nothing. After a couple months he emails me in September stating that he wants to send me a check instead of pay pal due to fees since he has sold a shop vehicle. I give him my NEW address twice maybe even 3 times. After 2 weeks I see nothing come in the mail. I contact Dave and he tells me that he might of shipped it to my old address. I give him the benefit of the doubt again. Now here I am no checks… called him numerous amount of times at the shop but I guess no one wants to answer the phone. All I want is my refund.

List of people that are still owed money!

I won't say that Dave and R&D is completely worthless, beacuse part of the responsibility for my experience is my own, but the overall experience wasn't all that great. In the end, I got something in return for my money (not a refund), but nothing for my time.

I won't go so far as to call R&D scammers, but what you've described is exactly what happened to me (cept I waited longer), and this may be part of their S.O.P. I wouldn't do business with them again, and will emphasize buyer beware with this shop:

Make sure it's in stock before you order, or you may be signing up for a ride that you're not willing to take.

Correct the 2 axle backs "where suppose to be in stock" and b pipe was a special order. The axle backs where suppose to be shipped first then when the b pipe came in he would ship that out. It didnt work out that way though.

Me an linh got tired of waiting, we even told him if the axle back are in stock, go ahead and ship them. When the bpipe comes in, ship that.

That's weird. I've never had a problem with them ordering things for me. Maybe it's situational. I know a lot of times parts take time to come in but I've never had an issue with it.

Dave is nothing but excuses. I ordered some Volks from him in February 2008 and he told me it would be a 90 day wait. After 90 days I contacted him asking for updates and all I ever got was "I'll contact Mackin and get back with you." Finally I had enough of the bullshit back-and-forth email excuses. After nine months of waiting for something that was supposed to take 90 days I demanded a refund. He then took his sweet ass time sending that out as well. Thankfully he didn't screw me one last time with a "restocking fee". I'll never deal with him or that company again.

I actually lived in MS when I ordered it. So how long did it take for you to get a refund?

Man R&D is STILL fvcking up??? God damn! Over 4 years ago I was trying to buy some Work S1's thru him and I waited over 6 months for the wheels that were supposedly in stock. Thats the only reason I went with R&D because I didnt want to wait the 3+months it would take another shop to get them in. Big mistake. I never got the S1's.... but I did get a bunch of grey hairs because of this experience. Live and learn. I demanded a refund.
I will say one positive that came out of this. I started to charge him interest on MY money that he was sitting on for over 6 months. I had all the paperwork filled out and ready to take them to small claims.
Well guess what... I was finally refunded my money. Even tho all the interest I charged him wasnt included in the refund.. some of it was. Happy I got my money back. Would never do business with again.
Good luck.

there were a bunch of complaint threads here but they disappear after 30 minutes or so. i guess ill post my experience with him.

I ordered a set of gunmetalk Volk TE37's from him and recieved in a timely matter. then i remember him saying he will get one of the first Volk Time Attack shipments and was pushing every to preorder. i preordered mine and was told there was a 90 day wait which is normal for custom new sets and being delivered from japan. after about 7 months, i got fed up and demanded a refund or i will do a fraud claim and a chargeback with my bank (paid with a debit through PAYPAL). and after about 3 more months of him giving me the run around, i finally got my refund.

I ordered time attack TE's from David back at the start November 07' for the sole reason that they were "in stock and ready to ship" however they somehow got "lost" by USPS sometime around Christmas. The whole time I was never given any tracking numbers so who knows where they really ended up or if they ever did ship.

Anyways I ended up with white/red time attack CE's as a replacement finally around the end of April. And they shipped directly from Makin, R&D never even touched them. This was after probably 50+ emails and a dozen long distance phone calls. Wheels showed up with no center caps.... had to beg for another couple months to get those finally.
