Default The truth about HID kits

Hopefully this will cut down on some of us have to repeat ourselves over and over and over about why plug-n-play (PnP) HID kits are such a poor lighting choice. I found this thread as a sticky over on the HID Planet forums by Haknslash, a site admin there who used to frequent H-T back in the day.

Check out this HORRIBLE narrow beam pattern. Notice how blue and stupid everything looks. Smurf-style y0!

Mmmm glare

Enjoy, now get to spreading these video links haha
And some more info:

Scroll to 1:40 in the video to see the obvious difference between OEM and PnP kits:

Scion tC with HID kit in stock reflector headlights (glare out the wazoo):

Same Scion tC with TSX projector retrofit (much better):

Volvo with 55watt ballasts on a PnP kit in reflector housings

9004 4300K HID kit in 97 Maxima stock reflector housings (WOW crazy massive glare, and almost NO light where it's needed!!):

94 Maxima @ same location with TSX retrofit:

Great comparison of HID kit in stock Neon headlights vs. projectors retrofitted into the Neon headlights:
