Default Suspension Poll !

Hey guys,

Im looking into getting a full coilover set for daily driving on the TSX. Price range is somewhere under the $1000 line if not very close to it!

Here are my options:

Buddy Club N+ Full coilovers
Tein Basic Full coilovers
Koni Yellows with ground controls

I see the Ksports on ebay for about 900 shipped. that seems to be in my price range.

They look good, and im hearing good things. I just dont want to go spend a fortune on coilovers and be unhappy with the ride

thanks,

I got my Tein SS for $1000 shipped. I absolutely love them. I'll try to find the website where I ordered them.

I wouldnt get them but Buddy Clubs Spec II are the best bang for your buck of the 3 you posted. If its 4 your daily, GC and Koni's would also be a good combo, but they dont come with top hats.

i had the SS-P's on my 05 accord - no preload but rode pretty stiff at 9/6k rates, but 12/8k with a twin-tube damper would be nicer on the accord chassi.

now i have the MONO-Flex on my CL9 - 9/6k rates, but with the mono piston damper and MSV, these things are the best suspension i have ever had (coming from various race set-ups on my dc2).

the USDM spec'd regualr flex's are 12/8k with a performance lacking twin-tube damper and no MSV are rated a little stiffer the then JDM spec MONO-Flex's. I have not ridden in a car with the regular Flex's, but the MONO-Flex's are much stiffer at the 9/6k same rates as the SSP's i had on my 05 accord.

i believe this is due to the MSV valving and the single piston damper desgin - you really must ride in a car with the MONO-Flex's to understand how great they are. On the highway the car stays flat with the MSV and the jolting bouncing is reduced greatly. Bumps are much more solid and rigid feeling versus the clunky and holo feeling witha regular damper.

the MONO-Flex's are JDM spec only for the CL9 and considering the JDM CL9 has a lighter motor and a few less creature comforts, is why im assuming they are rated at 9/6k. The 9/6k feel very stiff and the anodized not powdercoated shock bodies are very nice.

I am wondering if TEIN USA willl ever release a US spec 12/8k MONO-Flex or if we will just be stuck swapping out the 9/6k to the stiffer spring on the JDM version. I also want to see if anyone is riding with 12/8 springs on their MONO-Flex's??

Def. worth the wait and the money! - Hit up Marcus at Heel-Toe auto he is the one-stop shop for everything CL9_

you will not want anything else once you ride on these. MSV is really something you have to ride on the street with.

A lot of the TSX guys really had luck with Tanabe suspension. It's not that stiff for daily driving. I had BC N+ on my EP3 and they were stiff for a daily driver. It was tolerable for the EP3, but I wouldn't want them on my TSX.

Quite the opposite. The BuddyClub N+ I have on my TSX are much more comfortable of a ride than the Tein SS I had on a previous car. I have the front dampening set at 12 and the rears at 8. You definitely feel the road more over the stock suspension, but it's my no means an uncomfortable ride.

In fact any friend who has gone for a drive in my car always says "This car rides so smooth. As if it's not even lowered."
