Default problem with shifter bushing install

i got the energy suspension shifter bushing for my del sol, i tried to put it on the bar that connects to the transmission but the hole is too small, i've done this before with my ek and had no problems.. could someone help me out please.

if it has a metal sleeve inside, it's make for SOHC, if it has no sleeve and the inner diameter of the hole is bigger, it's make for DOHC

i got the right part, the right numbers and everything. but for some reason the bushing is a tiny bit bigger then the hole it goes inside. i tried forcing it in but it doesnt work. anyone got any tips for me? i've done this before on my ek and it just popped right in, i dont know why the del sol is soo hard to do.

Are you talking about the bushing that fits the shift rod near the shifter The shift rod is flaired to keep it from pulling out of the bushing. If so you have 2 choices at this point you can cut the flair off the end of the shaft (NOT THE RIGHT WAY TO DO IT) or lube the piss out of the end of the saft and inside the bushing and force it over the shaft this will take a lot of work but is the correct way to do it. You also have the cold weather making things all that much stiffer.

sorry, talking about the bushing thats at the transmission, the one that goes inside the hole of the shifter bar.

When I did mine I used a big C clamp and 2 blocks to act as a press to install that bushing
