Its taken me a very long time to take this car apart and do it over from scratch but I think I'm ready. The car has gone through some major changes over the years from being another white EG on the streets, to the white EG with the H-Motor.
It again transformed to the Candy Coated H-Powered EG and helped me step into the street performance class once I started dipping in the mid to low 12 second threshold.
I have always been inspired by clean cars, nice paint, and rare wheels but "street racing" is what got me onto the track. All the ego and racing on the streets made me want to know how fast my car really was. First time on the strip, bone stock h22a EG with some 13 inch VX Donuts, 13.7@102mph, 60'= 2.4 .... I got bit by the bug. Didn't need the street races anymore. I started getting my car ready for every track event I could. I have been to a ton of NorCal (CMI) events and I have raced at Bakersfield twice.
The reason for the reconstruction is that I just want to get some of the flaws ironed out and get a new color. It is going to be Candy for sure, cause once you go Candy, there is nothing else... I have also had some issues with my setup this season. I put out a ton more power and have not been hitting the times I want to. I should be in the low low 11s and Im not. Redoing some of the suspension and drive train will be on my list for 2009.
Ok, by now I'm sure most of you are sick of hearing me rant about my career as a s/p racer so Here are the pics. I took a bunch of before and after shots as well as a photo shoot before I took the car apart... Enjoy!

Re: my h2bEG Reconstruction Build Thread
you have a very clean car man, I have always admired it.
How much power are you making that you say you should be low 11s? Just curious.
Suspension comes into play in a MAJOR way when you are looking to go that fast

Re: my h2bEG Reconstruction Build Thread
No idea yet. Still working on getting the cage and the misc parts before i take it into the shop...
Yea, HP is 275 and trq is at 186 last time I dynod. That was on 100 octane...
I have been having issues with misfires and other misc stupid stuff. I definately agree, suspension is key to going fast, as well as gearing and tire choices... I have a lot of work ahead of me but I appreciate the kind words...

Re: my h2bEG Reconstruction Build Thread
The Clutch I'm using is a clutchmasters twin disc that I got for a very good price. I love it, grabs hard, never slips, and makes the cool clanking noise that freaks everyone out. hahah...
What size slicks were you using on this setup, what kind also? Next season definitely has gears and suspension on the task list.

Re: my h2bEG Reconstruction Build Thread
Nice setup and clean car man. Keep up the good work, Also by the way I had some skunk2 full suspension setup and it didnt work well for me. Now i order some stiff omnipower drag suspension, I'll let you know how it goes. Goodluck.

Very cool, definately subscribed to this one. Your build it one of the few on here that has inspired my H2B EG build.
Good luck and keep the updates flowing!
