if you can turn a screwdriver for those hose clamps you can put a intake pipe and a velocity stack together

the velocity stack is just an accessory. The length and diameter of the intake are the biggest contributors.

If you really must have a intake why don't you just go with the K&N drop in or the fram air hog.

a filter is the biggest thing i'd worry about. a pipe is a pipe is a pipe. there is really no difference in what pipe does what ect... on superhonda a guy did like 5 different intakes and all were the same hp on the dyno. i guess if your a baller you can go with an expensive one. me- egay with a k&n.

i wanna be the first intake on the dyno, that way the manifold is cooler and i'll get a better HP reading than the next guy who's going on a hot motor

im running a stock box on my car with some air ducting hose running to the front with a K&N, my midrange feels a little more lacking than my CAI had but the top end and bottom end feel a little better

Whale Penis wold be best choice if you got money to spend, if not just go with an aem one. A pipe is a pipe. I would go with an Ebay intake and just put a Fujita filter. A pipe is a pipe, use your own judgement on the design. If your concerned about it being CARB legal then stay away from Ebay , other wise save your self some money dude.

This set up right here actually makes the most power out of all the ones listed in the poll.

I dynoed my car back to back with the comptech ice box. One run with everything connected, the next run with out the top of the box on, and then one run with the filter off, ice box off and running a velocity stack. My car lost power with just the short ram intake (top of the ice box off; 187whp), with the complete ice box system (made 189whp), and with just the shortram with a velocity stack (made 191whp). I was so impressed that I bought a velocity stack the next day!

that's what I did except I used an AEM filter...hp was less than 1 HP away from my AEM CAI..and only 2 HP more than my AEM SRI.

buy a 3 inch short ram intake kit off ebay for less than $40 and the blox velocity stack and filter combo for $60. power gains have been dyno proven by bPi with a velocity stack and filter combo on a short ram intake.

I think that's just you. Mine stock ran 16.03 sec flat, and I got a DB7 4dr.
(tested at Rockingham Dragway)
So you're saying that I can run a low 15s with just an intake? Never gonna happen.
.7 of a sec is a whole lot to knock off.

I added a cat-back, new performance clutch & flywheel, and only knocked off .1 sec off of my time.
(tested at Mooresville Dragway just this past weekend)

Oh, to answer the poll and main question. I vote eBay intake.

If you want name brand just to look cool, that's up to you, but the question is about best performing intake, and the answer is always gonna be, an intake is just an intake.
There's not too much difference in the power gains.

I think the doing the ebay intake and putting a K&N filter would be cool. the only thing is that if you do get that intake its probably not going to fit in right, like it might be kind of shorter then what you want it to be. But then sometimes it comes out pretty good. I think it is just a matter of getting lucky with it.

Rockingham is where i ran my 15.7. I think you should be able to run low 15's with exhaust and clutch/flywheel. Just practice on your launches by trying diffrent rpm's off the line. keep track of your time slips and mark the rpm's you lauch at on that slip. The one with the best 60ft is what you want keep doing. I usually lauch at 2500
