Icon3 Short Ram Intake shootout!!!

I am going to be purchasing an intake soon and i need opinions and please choose the SRI that you think will produce the most Horsepower!!

And just to save some posts....
1.) I know they don't make a LOT of hp but pick the best you think would
2.) I don't want a CAI
3.) I want to bolt it straight on out of the box so please no modified stuff
4.) I don't want to buy in intake off of eBay

Thanks guys! for everything and if you could give any review of your intake that would be awesome too!!

They all make about the same power, with in 0.5hp of each other if that. The filter is more important and good air ducting if you have to go with short ram intake.
Just get what ever one suites your budget and looks like the style you are after.
Preferable non metal,(carbon fiber or fiber glass) as these wont be affect by heat soak as much.

Iv tryed. AEM, generic whale penis and custom stainless ones on dyno and they all made the same power. Cold air intake on the other hand were more prone to bad designs have less power because the extra length and turns. With the generic trademe(ebay) one making 2hp less then the custom stainless one which made the same as the short ram. Im sure results would be different with the hood closed with the short rams making less due to heated intake air.

Generally, what sort of gains are you going to be looking at with an SRI?

they're all the same to me really. but i voted for the whale penis lol. K & N has the best air filters though no doubt. they suck in more air from what i saw on tv

are any of these worth even 1hp over a factory box with a K&N and the tank removed?

Some magazine did this very test a few years ago, and found that some intake from A'PEXi accounted for the most power gains. It may have just been a Comptech Icebox-style intake with the A'PEXi filter in the box or something.

i think the best intakes for the integra that i have seen tested is the j's racing intake and the AEM V2 CAI. AEM V2 got better results but it was pretty close between the 2.

the comptech is the one that is basically the stock intake arm and a modified air box right? I would likely vote for that one.

OP, to what engine are you adding this? I think this has been done in the ITR forum for the B18C5.

i'd rather give my money to bpi as he put the time and effort in designing the stack. Just to have blox copy the design.

It all depends on your build. Tune the length and diameter if you're serious. Otherwise, just pick something that's legal and isn't too big (dia.).
