Default 95 Civic coupe B18C gsr build - plans for boost!

Hey Honda-Tech!

Fist I would like to say welcome to my first build thread. Your comments, opinions, thoughts, bumps, and advice are welcome!

Been a member on this board for a while, so I decided to start a build thread of my own
I currently drive a 95 EJ1 but my stock motor started ticking on me 2 months ago. My dad said we'll fix it but after 2 years and 2 Eg's it was finally time for a swap! Coming home from work I redlined first....and at around 5000rpm it just blew. Craked the block! NICE.

My plans....
I found a jdm B18C gsr motor w. tranny, p28 chipped ecu, shafts, dizzy for $1000 I'm keeping the internals stock and running boost to make 290HP.

Pics
My first car, 93 Lx. Got it when I was 16 as a gift from a family friend.

When I was done with it....

My Ej1 when I bought it in 2007.

Now...

When I blew the D16z6.

Update: October 18

Got some parts in yesterday
Does anyone have any experience with the Exedy clutches and how the Stage 2 will feel on the street? I didn't get a lightweight flywheel but I am machining it down to 12lbs.
I'm still waiting for the cam gears to come in and then it goes straight to the engine shop! Can't wait!

Didn't get a raise...but I got another part time job. So now I got 2 jobs to get this mother[freak]er done!

Sent the engine to the machine shop on Monday.
Getting: -flywheel resurfaced to 13lbs
-installing 2mm head gasket
- inspecting the piston rings
- valve clean-up
- clutch install
- cam gears installed

If you still need a bracket i may be able to find one. Im in ottawa. That clutch is not bad, i did the same clutch on a eg hatch b18c years ago. You will have to learn how to not slip it so much.

Yeah right rust free lol! When I got the car the quarters were crap so I just did a simple bondo job. After the winter the rust started coming into the trunk.
Rust is just stage one weight reduction =D

If I can't find one locally I'll let you know but thanks. What do you mean by not slipping it so much?
And I tried looking at your Ej1 build thread but it says the page does not exist!

Dec 5

Ran into a little bit of problems the other day.
As my friends and I were towing my car to the shop, (we attached a rope to my tow hook and his Sprinter) a cop pulled us over with only 5 minutes left to go. He said this is illegal and we can't continue lol.

Here is the cop closing down the street so we can push the car into a nearby parking lot.

Waiting in the freezing rain for an hour, @ 1am, empty parking lot, a flat bed finally arrived!

The steering wheel was a gift, and yeah I love it! After a year the suede is kind of wearing out but still looking good.
Once I had dirty hands so I drove with blue latex gloves, got pulled over by a cop

Had some time today so I took apart my old motor.
Cause of failure: oil starvation at the crank oil squirter on cylinder 1.

Hole in the oil pan from the crank!
