Stop putting ideas into peoples heads......I am looking at getting the coupe if it comes at a resonable price and then there will be fibreglass and carbon complete shells available. I have enquired about getting a mould of it and have a chassis builder souced to build a completely new chassis and would be powered by a ZX14 bike engine. Just an updated version of my blue roadster.
So i will keep you posted as i am looking at getting a mould off of my roadster as well

I accept your offer, for me to join you on this venture that is... If you are not starting out with a new chassis though won't it become a hassle registering it with a bike engine though? It'd be a 2010 model Chassis, not a 1965ish and will therefore have to comply with current emissions tests.

I really need to let this thread get back on track, any updates?

Hi all,

Engine mounts are back in..

Steering column clears..

Exhaust doesn't..

Here my old shell I'm trying to sell on ebay for the last time..

If it doesn't sell I will be pulling it apart..

It will a shame to put it apart. There are not many S600 Coupe Shells left.
Not regarding harm you´ve done to it...

problem is it will be worth more stripped of usefull panels. plenty of restorers wanting just a wing etc.

i shall be sticking my old parts car shell and chassis on ebay for 99p start price just to clear the space.

of all the problems to get the S2000 engine to fit i think the exhaust will be the hardest.

is the engine mount in the way of the exhaust or is it the side wall of the engine bay? now that i look at it, it could possibly even be the frame rail. theres clearly going to have to be a custom header made and probably some manipulation of the bay itself...have you thought about how youre going to approach it?

i'll let everyne know when the bits i don't need are available.

O.T.
a custom header will be the only way. there is easily enough clearence between the body and the chassis. it's the going under the chassis to the rear will be most awkward. especially as you appear to be going to run your car a lot lower than i am with mine.

Have you ever thought you were lacking in power? Maybe you could get new headers made that run towards the front and then add a turbo. Then you could run the exhaust down the other side of the car, after all the pipe work would be up the front and go by the radiator to the other side.

But only if you thought you were lacking in the Power to Weight area.

That is a shame though, you've had some time to think about it, anything spring to mind other than some custom block hugger headers?

Leo,
I just had new headers and exhaust done for my roadster and you would find it easier to run a tri Y set-up.4-2-1. have your primaries meet just before the chassis rails and run the secondaries down the gap of the body and chassis and down under the chassis side rail. it will reduce ground clearance but not as much as trying to fit a single pipe under there. then run the secondaries into a 2.5 to 3 inch oval pipe (whatever is required) to give a bit more ground clearance. once i am home in a couple of weeks i will send a few pics of my headers and exhaust.
