Default Wooden supercar!

I was in Lowe's hardware store today and just happened to see a car on the cover of a wood working magazine. Turns out this group of people are working on a supercar made mostly out of wood! That includes the body, many suspension components, wheels, seats and steering wheel, etc.

Target weight is 2500 lbs. and target power is north of 600hp from a twin-supercharged Northstar V8 with Corvette transmission. In order to get the optimum engine placement, they actually REVERSED the flow of the engine heads, with the superchargers mounted on the sides of the heads (where headers would normally be), and the headers come out the top where the intake manifold would normally sit between the heads! The header pipes come out the top to the muffler, which actually doubles as the wing on the rear of the car!

Amazing stuff.

WOW....I want that thing....bad

These guys have some serious talent.

I wonder if it's intended to be a one off or if they'll be taking orders on them for low volume 'production.'

However, can't deny the sickness of this car. They say about the wood construction, "It has a higher strength-to-weight ratio than aluminium or steel, and it possesses a versatility that makes many different types of construction techniques possible." Plus, it's made of [freak]ing wood.
