i still have to pull it apart and clean everything up...but here is the rough idea. i used to DREAD taking this section off of my car. it took 3.5 seconds to put it on now with the new coupler. and the best part is....the old connection was leaking so maybe i'll pick up a little bit of power!

I just saw these clamps posted on YB today. I wonder how well they compare to the LPS clamps I just had put on my setup last week. Mine screw onto each other and have been test to 150psi. And they run a similar O-ring design. And they flex really well.

Here's some pics of em on my car.

and heres a lil vid of the clamps pressurized. They took two pipes, welded a clamp in the center, air fitting on one end and a pressure gauge on the other.

Linder Power Systems Intercooler Couplers

I'm sorry Joe, didn't mean to thread jack or anything. just throwing these out there cuz they look similar.

i came across these too on yb. these are the screw in ones mentioned above....not the ones that are on the car i have here.

havnt seen these ones in person but they look nice. the QDC is still substantially cheaper.

can the sleeve slide over the weld bead?

Depending on how thin the bead of the weld is, yes. Mine slip over just fine, but i can see where if the weld sat up too high, it would cause an issue with installing and removing the O-rings. So with a competant welder, it shouldn't be a problem. I have spoken with the Manufacturer and recommended making the weld flanges a little longer to compensate for welding error.

These clamps are distributed by http://www.horsepowerconnection.com .

Joe, as someone mentioned in an earlier response, the clamps on the hargett ones look like ones off 4wd hubs. how stiff are those clamps and is there any movement out of them when flexing the connnection? I like how simple they are to install and remove.

Tony, I'd love to measure it for you, but I'm not exactly able to do it right now. lol

You know where I am.

And yes, AFI did fab the IC for me. My manifold/DP too.

Yeah, i've got some here, the lip on the wiggins ferrules is the same o.d. as the tubing (3" 16ga), it's not for locating. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with ensuring good weld pentration. Like in the pipe welding industry where they leave a gap in the pipes, the "lip" pretty much melts away and turns into a gap. Probably a good deal if you were welding to thick material and running them at 1000psi, but more of a pain in the ass than anything for our application. I usually turn that lip off before i weld them on.

those look to be in the same price range as wiggins, i think the biggest deal on these is bang for buck the 3" assemblies look to be 83.00 retial which is very competive to retail of a good interlocking vband. and as mentioned earlier those arent the easiest to use..

I got the chance to see these things in person while I was at the Seattle BOTI event. I must say I fell in love with them right away. Very nice couplers and the way these guys designed them is pretty cool, they have a 5 degree flex up and down and side to side and still remain sealed the whole time. I plan on using these on my new build.

They are very close to been finished. I recently viewed one of the test versions and they are sweet. Nevermind the price point is going to be great. (From what I have been told)

Anyways.. Hargett clamps are also nice..
