Default New ITR Registry

So, I had some spare time on my hands lately and was looking through some muscle car registries. They all look like site’s made in the mid 90’s (vintage, classic, etc.). I wondered if there was an ITR registry since they were limited production. I didn’t find one on Google except for the Jaguar Type-r (lol) site. I searched Honda-tech and ITRCA and found that there was an old one that hasn’t worked for some time now. I also saw some forum posts of some text-based lists. I spent a few hours toying with the idea and I decided to put up a new webpage. Please take a look and let me know if you think it is a good idea. I have some example data on there for now so people can see the look and feel. It’s definitely a work in progress, but I wanted some input. If you go to the 2001 section I put my car as an example of the photos/owner comments that everyone can also do. I think if enough people listed their cars it would be a pretty cool site. Let me know what you think. Check out my Integra Type R registry.
Thanks,
Matt

I think a silent registry is being kept, that list has more information than one would like to share with the public.

to the keeper of that list

I've never had the pleasure of being inside of a JDM Type-r...lucky bastard I'd love to see it! I can list them by something else. I'd like to stay away from VIN's just so that isn't made a public id. Maybe we can list the last part of the VIN like the 12-17th characters of the VIN as it is the number in which they were manufactured. Plus I can add a year field on markets like that to better organize. I'm open for ideas.

Your Registry looks good!! Once you get a finished product I'd rock it in my sig and encourage people to participate

A couple quick comments,

Add "Location"(just a state or province will do) and "Last Updated" columns. Also, with the year and last 4 digits of the VIN, you can very easily figure out the rest, so I wouldn't add that. People can PM that info to me but don't put it out publicly.

A little more info on what I'm doing. I've also been keeping a photo archive of ITRs.

The Canadian ITRs should be included (they are in my registry) because they share the same Badge sequence as the USDM caRs. The rest of the world is on their own

Thanks for the props guys It's a lot of work but I do enjoy it.

Thank you very much. Once people started giving you props I was beginning to worry if you would pop on here and act all E-gangsta and trash the post. I love honda-tech for looking down on that...anyhoo. Thanks for the blessing (so-to-speak). I don't want to step on any toes with a parallel project. Leave it to the internet to find a group of cool people with a freakin' bad-ass intrest!!! Thanks!

I was thinking about that when I got started, but didn't quite know where to draw the line. I'll put the location field and in the form call it state/province or something to that effect. I've seen that played out nice on other registries without getting too detailed. I realized the backwards way of figuring out the VIN after I read the VIN breakdown on ITRCA. I shoulda read that first. I'll update the form and integrate the new field in there tomorrow. Last updated is a good idea too. It's very useful to me and anyone looking to update their page. Good ideas, thanks for sharing!

Are the Canadian caRs actually share the same sequences with USDM or do they just have the same numbering schema? I have a CDM and AUDM page built and will integrate those with the dropdown menu's tomorrow. I won't add a CDM page if they are within the same numbering sequence.

Thanks for sharing a slice of your wealth of knowledge. I'll hit you up once I'm calling this a "product" rather than a "beta product". It's time for a beer!
Take care,
Matt

LOL, nope. The more people who put in the effort to record these histories the better I'm actually glad someone is putting together such an online registry. I have no computer science/web language skills at all, so I can't do it. It was a sad day when the ITRCA Registry went down. I hope the info in there can be recovered someday I was only able to grab the 1997 entries.

They are part of the same total sequence. For example, in 1997, there were only 320 USDM ITRs but around 500 badge numbers. The balance of the badges were for the Canadian caRs. It seems Canada received roughly 1997 badges # 211-220, some 250s, 291-300, and 380-481. Also, North America had the only markets for the "Acura" engraving on the badge. Rest of the world were Honduhs

So, yes I do have love for the Canadian ITR's. I'll just rename USDM as USDM/CDM since they are mixed together anyways. Good info to know!

As for the non-badged caRs. Maybe I can just collect the year rather than the badge. It won't be as specific as the badge numbers, but at least people can add their car to the registry, have pics, say a thing or two about it, etc. I can't think of any car specific identifiers other than the VIN.

Can you guys think of any other pages I should definitely add for international R's? I have European, JDM, and will be adding the Austrailian page since they have a good following.

Thank you to everyone who has already submitted their cars. I've already erased half of all the example data I had listed. Good start!
