Well, both of you are doing Joe a fine disservice by insighting a bunch of garbage on his behalf. Let him handle his business. I've clearly offered every accomodation to promoting his business as possible, I really don't understand what more you want.

When someone makes a post like that, I would hope you wouldn't expect anything but an appropriate response.

This is a meet planning thread, get your negative comments out or moderators will deal with you. You've been warned.

I'm going to reiterate for the final time. I am in full support of Joe securing sponsorship for this event, and I fully encourage his involvment. His dyno can be an assett, and I'm fully opened to working with him in any way possible. Understand though, that it MUST MEET the needs of the event. If you see it as negative that there is a screening process, then that's your opinion, but don't inject your negativity into the thread. Furthermore, this process is not your concern.

Take it somewhere else and don't inflame the situation.

Chill out guys. I have been in contact with RC000E and he was thinking like 300 cars. and its not looking like I could handle that kind of traffic. unless an open lot becomes open around there.

All i said i can supply the dyno and the location, I could handle 100(tight). but not 300.

this thread needs cleaned up.

wow this thread is getting heated, but anyhow I was at the 08 meet and it was great and i know that the 09 meet is going to be over the top compared to last years. it is disappointing to see stuff like this happen, but i guess it does, i've known RC00E for almost 3 years now and he's a real cool dude and I think he's going to have one heck of a great meet for us this year.......

UPDATE

Just had a meeting with the manager of the proposed venue location today. Looks like there's a good possibility of progress earlier this year. Place is in a great spot, and has capacity for over 400 cars easy. Step 1 just about done.

We WILL be doing pre-paid registration this year for a cost savings versus paying when you arrive. This'll allow me to gain some capital to work with ahead of time to make the event larger. It'll also speed entry into the event the day of. Lastly, it'll serve as a reminder for people to attend when the date arrives.

I'm also working with several other people this year to track funding, food management and other factors. So, I'll likely just have a set paypal account for ticket payment, then an actual event ticket will be mailed to you. This ticket will also serve a secondary purpose as your raffle ticket.

Tickets will likely go on sale just after the first of the year....at least that's my hope.

Just wanted to update, that I have received a small grant to produce a full length documentary!

Some of you may or may not know that I began offering professional videography earlier this year. Through channels and research in that business I have been able to receive some operating funding to produce a full length documentary...something I've wanted to do for some time. I need candidates to participate, and I've put a thread up about it in this forum.

This is pretty exciting for me, and it's just another aspect of my choice to try and join people and knock down these hostile barriers that exist in this area. This is something I've pursued and wanted to do for a few years now, and slowly but surely I'm getting there.

I certainly can't gaurantee that this will ever see full scale distribution, and there are many steps to go, but operating funding is never a bad thing. All I can do is my best, submit the finished product through the proper channels and see what happens.

So, officially the 2008 and 2009 Meet footage WILL be included in this project for prospected completion spring 2010.

Hey, I just wanted to update something. The vid mix from last year was CHOPPY on youtube to say the least, and as part of my other biz (wedding/event videography) I've been working on honing in on the export settings ideal for vimeo. I've definitely been able to get much better quality there.

So, here's the mix hosted by Vimeo....much better!

Tagging this for later. I was on vacation last summer so I missed it. Hopefully I can make it out this year, hopefully with a new car also.
