It would be really cool to take an hour, line up all of the shootout cars in a row, pop the hoods and let the drivers/crew have a meet & greet with the spectators and other teams.. I'm sure everyone would have a blast BSing with people and showing off their set-ups! It would be a great way to generate interest in the class too!

That's a good idea Jenny. But I got a question and don't want to start any trouble or anything! Tom, are you going to try and do the live feed at Etown? And has one asked Reynolds if he wants to do this race? Maybe he will leave Boti and do it...

Tom sponsors(spelling) BOTI, so I really do not think the Integra will be at this race

I say do that on Friday at the test and tune or somewhere off track to draw interest like NHRA used to do.

And if it's off track, maybe the hour lineup on saturday. I know an hour isn't a lot of time when people start talking, and these cars have a lot to talk about

The ideas keep getting better!! I think with all the hype this event will be the best of the year! We need to spread the news to magazines and others to pack the stands! This will show the big sponsors what we can do when we join forces. Awesome job Brian!

I have already emailed the cheif editor from Import Tuner to see what he thinks (I would have tried DSport, but I know this guy so I think I will have more pull in the situation). The biggest problem is the lack of Drag Racing coverage. My ultimate goal is to have Jenny shoot the article, she has a genuine love for drag racing unlike the people they send out that only are there to make the $.

Individual pictures of the cars/people in the top 16 is just one of the ideas that I proposed to him. If I know him as well as I think, he will be all over getting this event as much coverage as possible.

I will keep everyone posted!

Dont know how or who to call but if we could get some flyers made up for this event and every local shop hands them out, that would be a plus. I think we all can make this thing huge

It would be cool for the drivers or so to get 2 pages in the issuse each like you stated. 1 page of just the car with the driver standing by it, and the 2nd page just be some specs/info/shop and favorite ice cream or something..... I have seen magazine do it for drifters. All drivers and cars on the front "chasing 8's!"

The 2 big magazines are SCC and Super Street, the writers dont seem to be big Honda fans (granted thats not all thats participating), but those 2 magazines are the ones I always see people looking through.

I talked to Etown again today. Here's the deal with tech cards. They will do $100 tech card and that includes 4 crew/spectators for the weekend. This will lower the payout a little as I calculated my totals based on $65. Do we want to cut it in half and have $950 go into the purse $100 go to etown for a total of $1050? I will not be able to get free tickets for Bounty sponsors. If someone wants to be a big bounty sponsor and throw Etown some money on top of it, then I would have leverage to get free tickets. When this event is a success then hopefully we can have many more and the track and other sponsors can front the payouts and our entry fees will be lower in the future. But this is the first time and we need to prove ourselves. Hope this works for everyone.

This is Tom's idea and he is more than welcome to be a part of this race and it's success. Unfortunatley right now, his feelings are a little hurt and he doesn't want to be. I am talking with the necessary people to allow him to launch his drag web site that he is looking to launch. Sorry that you don't want to be a part of this. There are plenty of people that DO want to be a part of it.

If the participants don't want me to continue on, then I will stop, return the deposits and Tom can take back over everything. Just let me know.

He was trying to make it an invite only type deal with only 8 cars, and wouldn't budge. There are a lot more people that wanted to race.

There is nothing wrong with taking someones idea, and turning into something bigger and better!

Oh well

Umm, Brian isn't doing this to make money, Tom was from what i can tell and Brian isn't making the rules. If any of us were unhappy with the rules it would be discussed and something that everyone agrees on would happen.

This is why I have offered to let other people handle this. You need to stop listening to Tom and listen to the competitors. If they have a problem with the rules, they will let us all know. Tony and Reynolds have been quicker and faster than me with these rules in place and I was on a 74. There are other cars in progress right now that will run quicker too. Let my fellow racers worry about the rules. Show me how this is tilted towards my car...it's an outlaw race..run what you brung.

Neither do we.

Maybe JDM Front integras should be allowed 76mm turbos, but besides that, everything looks good

And I ask what is the difference between what you just said and what Tom was trying to do ?

same weight , 72mm on K series, and 26s.

Isnt that the same thing that Tom was doing? Seems to me that the rules are just trying to be concentric.

If the racers have NO problem with them, then why should someone who has already clearly stated they wanted no parts of the race?
