Just thought I would do a quick DIY on the dust/pollen filter replacement. The ISO was off on my camera for some of the photos, but, you'll get the point.

Open Glove Box:

Pull in the left and right side of the glove box like so. This will allow the compartment to open up fully.

Anything inside will fall out on the floor.

On both side pinch in these tabs that hold the filter in. While doing so pull it towards you. This is where the filter element is.

Filter in tray:

Take out the filter and replace with the new one. It should only go in one way as there is a direction for the air flow marked on the plastic tray.

Take note that the ECU is in that location as well. Just an FYI.

I think the manual recommends every 15k. . .

Around once a year should be good, I know I'm due for mine.

Yes, Honda recommends every 15K miles. Mine had 19K on it and wasn't too bad. But, once a year is probably a good thing. If you notice musty smells or really dirty filters sooner, then it couldn't hurt to replace as needed.

Almost 30k on my Fit and I just recently changed the intake filter

(Still managed good mpg)

Haven't gotten around to this one yet.

I bet yours is icky El.

I'm getting ready to take a look at the one in my S, too. It is still the original from 4 years ago when I bought it!

Any air that comes out of your vents is going to pass through this filter.

I changed mine today after 27,000 kms. Now the A/C blows stronger as does the fan in general. A very good move replacing it. The old filter was a dirty blue, the new one is a bright baby blue. I could not believe it was the same filter, dirty it was.

Yes. I suspect that if the filter was never changed and became severely clogged it could cause premature wear on the blower fan.

i just rolled into 30k....took mine out saw some crap in it used a blower in the show and sprayed it out ill wait til my paycheck comes soon to replace it since i get employee discount since i work at honda

Just curious, but, what is your cost for the filter?

i think its around 20 for me, lol i laugh cause they charge customers 89.95 at my honda dealership. I took one out the first time for this guy and showed him and the girl was at the desk and she said sir that would be 89.95 i was like whoa knowing that it took me all less than 3 minutes to take it out and install a new one.

cabin filter......no im not.....i know what honda charges CUSTOMERS. It probably cost like i said around 20. They charge for the service of it 89.95 for us techs to put in the cabin filters for the customer, otherwise it cost me to buy it myself around 20....not sure what the real price is for me with my discount i havent cared to check
