It's so hard to meet/spend time with anyone; just so much going on.

Yeah between classroom, staying hydrated, fixing cars and driving.

Other than soft brakes on day 2, I got what I wanted done. Testing of the new sussy went well and now I am ready to tinker with settings. Without an instructor the car was a little unpredictable so I'll see.

The NASA CCR is pretty much all or nothing now, with safety equipment. Once you start, it has to go all the way.
Did I waste $s on Schroth ASM FE's? I got them because they were the only DOT legal (as well as FIA) four point harnesses.

^^ I'd prefer "just" a CG Lock over that set up.

Depends on your group's CCR.

A couple of years ago, NASA realised that all waivers were useless in the face of Virginia common law tort actions.

So the CCR now seems to say that you either need to hit the track with complete OEM safety equipment or complete CCR safety equipment (complete cage to CCR spec, five point harnesses, FIA seat with support where necessary).

There were too many cases where a single modification seemed to have exacerbated an accident, and it's too hard to have people in the tech shed all thoroughly trained like Jim Politi, so they went to a basically all-or-nothing way of thinking.

NASA events sometimes have many thousands attending, with races, novice groups with powerful cars in the hands of inexperienced first timers, and Group 3 and Group 4 drivers who could outperform most people with race licenses.

If they're not careful about what the CCR says about safety equipment, they would no longer be able to afford the event insurance.
