yes i did disconnect the battery.. im only affraid that the CONSTANT wire isnt at his place anymore thats why i need a cluster wiring diagram for a honda civic lx 2001 because maybe the constant pin isnt at his right place because even when the car is turned off the side mirroir does not work.. the power door lock aswell but they should be working even if the car is not on.. but if i turn the car on the mirroir work and the power door lock also but the stereo isnt workin at all.. i changed it i put back the stock stereo its not workin too.. wtf is this loll do you think that the constant wire is not at his place?

if you rewired the connectors to look like the top diagram you should be fine. the diagram works for all ex,lx and dx civics. you may not of seen it but you did blow a fuse guy, trust me, its in the fuse box in the engine bay, i think its one that is 7.5 but check all. pull them out one buy one and you will find one thats blown. i did the same thing you did i tryed to put the original one back to see if it would change and it didnt. it not the diagram if you follow it , it will work. its a fuse in the bay trust me and check it. im at work so try to move fast.

Hey, this isn't completely related, but i'd figure i should post here before making a new thread.
I have an RSX cluster and i'm trying to repin the plugs but I can't get the pins out. Can anyone help me out? lol
I might just cut my Em2 plugs out and solder/shrink wrap them together, but i'd rather not do that.

Default Question about cluster swap

Hey guys I have a 01 ex and I am planning on doing a 04 cluster swap. Ive searched but came up with a couple of answers to my question so I am hoping to get a final answer.

When I do the swap what will I need to do to get my cars original miles on the new cluster.

One answer I found is that The computer of the car contains the original miles and when I do the swap the original miles will show up on the new cluster.

The second one I got is that they do not show up and I just need to find a cluster close to my original miles.

DO any of you guys have any additional info on this.

Thanks

i believe that you can take it to a speedo calibration and they can do it

or depending on how many miles are on it just wait until your car gets there and then swap

because my car has 100k. And it is hard to find a 04 or 05 spedo with 100k. Can a speedo shop add miles to a speedometer?

This was a great post for the swap. I'm like 95% done..the 5% left is the white red wires. My 01 has 2 of them just like the diagram but there is only the pin 17 on the new cluster that it goes into. What do I do with the other one.

I just did this swap and my stereo cut out, im guessing its a fuse, my airbag light is on(i bought it from a wrecker and the airbags had gone off) how can i turn that light off, can i just reset my computer to do so, also when i turn my brights on it doesnt register on the gauges that my brights are one, any ideas? also my car is a 2001 Civic 1.7 D17A2 V-tec coupe fully loaded (minus leather), the guages came out of a 2004 Civic 1.7 D17A1 coupe

to fix mine i cross refferenced the diagram above and the wiring in the 2004 and put the two together, and for the blow fuse it is under the hood, one that i never thought to check lol but i ended up checking all of them and now it works perfect

Ok so I have a 04 vp is this the repin you have to do to swap clusters because I don't have a tac or is it just a matter of switching them out.

if you have a 2004 why are you switching them? your gauges are the cool ones already, and if you dont have a tach you can some times tap into a injector wire to get a tach reading but i dont know for sure on the civics, if you try its the wire that is not common with all the other injectors (one wire will be the same colour on all the injectors, dont tap into that one)
