i got a 95 civic ex with a 95 dx block and a 2000 ex head on it. it has two codes for the map sensor 3 and 5 i check the computer, the wiring, the map sensor they were all good. even changed the map sensor to a 2000 ex map sensor and once it warms up it has 3000 rpm rev limiter and starts burning gas real bad please help if you know anything about this thanks

Was the MAP Sensor working properly before? I had the same prob. My car would not rev past 2500RPM. I just ended up buying a new MAP sensor and fixed the problem.

i have 4 diff maps and none of them work

you might have the map and the tps sensor mixed up....try switching the 2 plugs and then reset your ecu and give it a shot

i gave you the voltage readings you should get if the map is good or bad. i hardly believe now that it's the actual map if you "went thorugh 4" of them.

are these "4" maps new? because the last tyime i checked they were about $200 a pop (new). if you are buying used ones, you might want to consider a new one.


and again if it's not the map, then you have a vacuum leak some where. double, triple check all the hoses on the intake manifold or leading to the manifold. all it takes is the slightes crack to give false reading to the map.

did you do all the wiring properly? IF your unsure then go over the entire layout of the harness and make sure its not an electrical prob. triple check eeeeveryyythings first.

limp mode. My car did that when i first turbo'd it. try map sensor adapter "missing link"
AND try disconnecting the battery for a minute. The only time i had a rev limiter was when gthe check engine light came on, a few minutes later "limp mode". Disconnected the battery and it was a limited time fix

i was thinking this too, but if he never messed with the tps, then this shouldn't be a issue.

unless he "forgot" to mention that he is turbo or went turbo, then it's irrelevent.

the wiring is good i didnt switch tps and map around. it was turbod not anymore though how much vacuum i have at idle?

well, if everything is working right, you should be at 800 rpms. it's hard to tell right know because you have map issues.
