Amphenol / Mil-spec connector guide

Re: Amphenol / Mil-spec connector guide
Any got suggestions on the type of labels used to mark the wires?
the reason i ask is because i bought a Dymo Rhino6000 label maker to print onto yellow heatshrink but when i went to order the yellow heatshrink cartridge i find that dymo has discontinued the yellow heatshrink and only have white heatshrink labels.
my next alternative is to either use just a standard yellow wrapped around the wire and use some clear adhesive lined heatshrink.
would this be good enough or should i just go for the white heatshrink? how does raywire and chase do theirs? i can quite tell from the pictures.
heres the dymo printer for reference: http://global.dymo.com/enNZ/ProductA...HINO_6000.html

I have the Dymo 5000 and don't have a problem finding yellow shrink. I'm not sure if it's the same though....
Keep in mind that this type of label printer is NOT what they are using....

Re: Amphenol / Mil-spec connector guide
I am having one hell of a time trying to find the manufacturer of the common 2-way Honda sensor connector. It is not Sumitomo, I've looked through every page of their catalog.
This is for 2-wire IACV, IAT, ECT, Oil Pressure sensor, VTEC presssur switch, Purge control solenoid... probably more than just those.

Re: Amphenol / Mil-spec connector guide
yeah, i haven't seen anyone that has tracked down new replacement housings. Even the harnesses that i've seen by Rywire and Chasebays 'LOOK' like they've reused oem connectors, not 100% sure though.

What are your guys thoughts on using the Tyco CGPT heatshrink as an alternative to the Tyco/Raychem DR-25 stuff?
From the specs it might not be as chemical resistant and is slightly thinner walled compared to the DR-25, but for a general non race application i think it would be acceptable not to mention more affordable.

Re: Amphenol / Mil-spec connector guide
For all you wire Gurus is anyone using a crimper that crimps wire and insulation on open barrel contacts all in one?*
I've been looking at the Xcelite ones
http://www.cooperhandtools.com/brand...c=037103197245
But not sure if it will crimp the smaller pins, (think ECU pins).
Maybe a Pressmaster crimper
http://www.pressmaster.com/visa_produkt.asp?id=1027
These look to be the same as the Xcelite ones posted first so maybe these ones that do smaller AWG wire
http://www.pressmaster.com/visa_produkt.asp?id=1022
Or maybe the AMP Pro-crimper ||| 58514-1 says it does wire from 26-18AWG
http://www.te.com/commerce/DocumentD...408-9973_B.PDF
Just want to know what everyone is using & how they like them
Any help is much appreciated guys

Re: Amphenol / Mil-spec connector guide
the OEM connectors are made by Sumitomo. I haven't found a place to buy the from but i did find the data sheets with the part numbers. It looks like you can buy them from sumitomo directly but you have to buy 4 to 5000 at a time. I made a post about it in the "Tucked Engine Bay" thread. I'm too lazy to link to it at the moment.

Re: Amphenol / Mil-spec connector guide
I've been trying to contact PRS for about 2 weeks now. Clint is normally the man for the job but my god, he's not responded at all. It's bothering me since I'm trying to create about 10 harnesses for some customers of mine.
I've noticed however, he's not the only one not answering though.
