UPDATE: Alco won't commit to any date because of construction concerning the tunnel that will be going under the river. There is also a restaurant and some other shops being built that could compromise the area.

As a result I have to speak with him about either a parking lot on the other side of the building, or I'm going to have to move the venue to the other side of the river. I'm really trying to avoid that, but I'm going to explore those options ahead of time just in case.

This WILL happen, I just have to work it out. This is why I started this effort early...going big takes some time. I'll do my part...you people just do your part and show up. I want this to be the biggest Honda Tech meet that ever took place. Everyone calls East Coast meets weak...I wanna show them we got some stuff over this way too.

Yeah, that seems like the only other option. The parking lot behind Hooters. There's also Point Park...which would be awesome as hell...but it'll never happen.

Right now, I'm still on the Heinz Field area, maybe on the other side of the stadium if necessary.

Ain't gonna happen...it'll be in downtown pittsburgh...I just have to secure it. Sitting in a parking lot in some obscure town or locale sucks. Plus you can't just pull a dyno trailer into the Mills parking lot and start goin at it...lol.

UPDATE:

As of right now, the parking lots adjacent to the stadium are owned by Alco. Alco can't commit to a date until January due to various construction projects close to the site. I'll be contacting them immediately after the new year to solidify the date.

I have three vendors confirmed and ready to prepay based on the date. This is gonna be a big ol' meet

I've had someone raise the issue about the day. I was working to do Sunday based on two of the vendors request, and due to better lot availability. I see most meets held on Sunday, so that seemed the easy choice. Does anyone prefer Saturday, or think Saturday would be profoundly better?

This event thread doesn't have much activity, due to the length of time until this meet, but can anyone contribute here and answer this question for me?

If it seems of utmost importance I'll consider changing it to Saturday.

with gen2fanatic's idea, if me and some heads went, I would rather stay overnight. Drive 4 hours to, then 4 hours back?

I'd rather enjoy the day, eat there, then go home the next day

Now, THAT would be sweet and I would roll.

So if it were saturday, but in downtown pittsburgh, maybe I could arrange for a local hotel deal somewhere for everyone interested in spending the night to stay?

Is a hard call cus saturday u can stay late and hang out till late and no worry about waking up early next day.But sunday u would have more vendors which it would make the meet bigger and better and like the other guy said on sundays ppl dont have nothing to do so is a tough call.I would said saturady cus if u want ppl from out of state to come to the meet they need to stay over nite and the ppl has things to do on saturday they have enough time to request off from work or change any plans they have. Also try to get as many vendors u can so if one cant show up u have enough vendors and things would still look good.My .02 cents.

I'll stay Saturday and Sunday.

Already made plans with some friends from my school to visit them and stay overnight.

I'm good.
