I used to have one of the big-ass Optima red tops... it was mounted in the black version of one of these:

I just took the sides and top off and drilled a few countersunk holes since I already had a nice flat place to mount that was low and right between the rear wheels. Now I can actually fit a rear strut bar on there (if I can ever find a Benen one!)

I'mquoted in the first post of that thread

No rear strut bars though, and I sold my old Benen one cuz it wouldn't clear that huge battery box

Where have some of you all grabbed your charge terminals from? I am having a hard time tracking a pair down.

I have a pretty solid idea but can someone please post a DIY for the remote battery terminals.

This is how I was going to do it:

1. Drill holes in fire wall to mount the terminals.
2. Run two cables off the negative battery terminal. One to a ground and one to the negative remote terminal.
3. Run two cables from the Positive battery terminal. One to the positive remote terminal and one to the fuse box.

Did I miss anything? Does there need to be any special insulation between the fire wall and remote terminals? What about the starter ground? What guage wire should be use and where do I buy it?

Sorry for the thread jack but I just wanted to be 100% clear.

i would do it something like this to reduce the amount of wire running from back to front.

Well I won't be running my battery in the trunk so I don't think the length of the wire will be an issue.

It should be wired up exactly like factory only with the remote terminals in between the fusebox and battery.Thats how I would do it.

Here's mine:

4ga from battery to firewall, then 4ga to starter and 8ga to fusebox.

If I was to use terminals, I would probably have them like this:

And make sure you're using one of these wherever your positive cable breaches the firewall:

Password jdm sells Odyssey. IIRC Summit is a little bit cheaper though.

There are also a few inexpensive alternatives (gruber power, etc) for the pc680 that are the same battery w/o the Odyssey sticker on it.
