Default Official FS/WTB thread for all classic hondas

As the title reads this will be the official FS/WTB thread for all classic honda's (only parts for 87 and prior are to be presented here)...this isn't official yet but hopefully our one and only mod will make it or GK. Thanks and congrats to everyone that contributed to make this forum possible. Enjoy

If anyone needs help with buying parts from Japan (such as Yahoo Japan Auctions), let me know, I have a contact there who can get parts for me. Most of my NOS parts I bought for my S600 I got that way.

FS: 1986 Honda City Turbo II (JDM) $6500. Car has been in my possession for 6 years, and runs and drives. Car has New Hampshire VIN affixed, and still retains the Japanese VIN as well. It will come with a bill of sale from the registered importer in New Hampshire to my friend, a notorized bill of sale from my friend to me, and a notorized bill of sale from me to you. Car is currently located in Sunny (read: hot as hell) Phoenix, Arizona.

Pictures upon request.

How negotiable are you? Brand new alternators are 90 bucks at vatozone.

Hmm, this sounds interesting, can you post some pics please? Is the price firm, or is there room to negotiate?

Thanks.

The price is pretty much firm, not much room to play with on this one.

Pics are located here:

Thanks.

Vatozone? Is that where I go shop for white boys in the barrio?

Are you quoting the price for a Denso or for a no-name? Mine is a Denso. Factory recommended replacement part.

I did a price check on all the usual cut-rate web auto parts stores. The standard price for a Denso reman alternator for an '86 Si is $130 plus a $40 core charge. I see no-name options listed for $87 plus a $45 core for Si, and for $87 plus a $13 core for DX and HF. Why the huge difference in core charge? Beats me. Are they just trying to sucker Si owners? Maybe.

Anyway, based on that I'm willing to believe you can find a new no-name for $90. While I think the Denso is worth a premium, I'll agree with you that I should be beating the new price of even a no-name. So I'll come down to $80.

I wish I would have known sooner...I threw away an "S" engine and transmission from my parts car about a month ago. You could have had it.

WTB: NEW 2G Civic "S" rear window seal....but I will take a DX or whatever you have. Mine is starting to deteriorate and I need something in there. I've been looking for over a year, so I know this is a very long shot in the dark. Hopefully somebody can help me.

damn man you are still looking for the window seal? i remember you looking for that on 1stgencivic.com a long time ago.... sorry man good luck with the search.

you could always just reuse an old one from the junk yard. i have an S window seal still on my junk hatch but i would like to have another window seal to put back when i take it out and get it running again, it doesn't have to be an S window seal

stuff is so hard to find on these cars, they've been abandoned by the aftermarket (not just performance parts but just regular replacement parts)

WTB: First Gen CRX, or Second Gen Civic. Must have a decent body, little to no rust (I hate body work), it can have a bad engine/tranny since I don't mind mechanical work as much, but I would prefer it to run. Looking for something relatively close to Pittsburgh PA, but will travel a few hundred miles for "the right car".

If anybody has such a car for sale, please post/PM me with some details and pics with your asking price.

I'm parting out one of my 1st gen CRX's. Everything is available at this point, if something becomes unavailable I'll let you know.

Phatboycrxhf, I'm gonna go outside and see what condition my door panels and speedo surround are. I'll PM you.
