Default Some crappy pics of my favorite manifold design to date...

...I almost wish it was for my car.

I think this design is much better than my first attempt. The runner lengths are less, there are less bends, and it's overall much more compact. Some people might be a little shocked at the drasticlly varied runner lengths, but before I built this manifold I did a little research. Those who I trust most who have the most experience with custom turbo fabrication, have all agreed that runner variation isn't a big issue.

I just need to weld on the WG tube, and port the T3 flange to match the elbow. I'll be building a 3" DP and heim link brace setup this weekend.

On with the pics...

No, and no.

The turbo mounts where the A/C compressor would be, and the WG is pretty much where the PS pump would be. It's designed to make power, and hold high boost with a single WG with no creep issues. It also simplifys a 4" (or larger even) DP, and back door IC setup.

I'll get some installed pics this weekend.

looks cool and Iam almost positive it will hold boost just fine , your gate placement is almost the same as it was on the S2000 manifold I did , and that with 1 tial44 and a gt35r hold 12 psi to 9900 rpm

Have you tried crushing that big ass tube in a vise to make it halfway resemble the shape of the inlet? I know you said you're going to port it, but have to tried shaping it?

yeah, it is shaped a little bit....kinda hard to tell from the pics. I basically formed it just enough so the porting that I need to do will be roughly equal on all sides of the flange.

Nope. This was one I've been working on for the past month or so. I didn't really like how the first manifold of this style turned out (in my sig), so I did some revisions...and this is the result. It turned out great, and should make some great power.

I don't have any on car pics, but I'll have some this weekend. Thanks man

break out a 5lb hammer...I beat on the runners against the vice...seems to work out very well for me. I broke two vices trying to clamp them and squish them.

Yeah, much more compact and simplified than the other one. Looks like you save alot of parts cost. Bump for installed pics bro.

Im curious how much that large pipe bend after the collector hurts flow? I always thought the purpose of a good manifold was to seperate energy/exhaust pulses from the motor and smoothly merge them right before the turbo? Seems you do that, but then they get slammed together and shove 45 degrees before entering the turbine. what do i know. nice fab!

Huh. I've been using a vice, and it's been working fine so far. How exactly did it break?

lol...u know it. But yeah, it's definetly a lot simpler. This new design is going to fit into an EF chassis just fine.

It won't hurt flow any more than a regular el in any one of the runners. The real benefit, is that the WG is now given priority to the flow of exhaust gases. This means that this manifold should support almost any turbo, on any motor setup and hold boost just fine. On some turbo setups the overall flow out the WG is actually quite large, so it makes sense to give it priority. I've seen this design used on many F1 turbo setups, so I'm sure it works well .

Hell yeah man. Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to build this for you. Sorry it's been taking so long though.

The reason you see that design on some setups is because they are boost limited and the majority of the flow is coming out of the gate. In a setup where you don't have rules as to how much boost you can run, a straight shot into the turbine will make more power.

I'd be more concerned with the loss in velocity going from the collector outlet into that big pipe, then back down into the turbine. I think if you can get a smaller tube there it will work a lot better.

ya, the big 90 seems like it disrupts flow a little.

But the prioritized WG is great for most street hondas with big ol' turbos and not enough traction. How do you fix traction? boost contol. Thats a very elegent solution to getting good WG flow on a honda. Good job

I see what your saying. I might use the smaller radius on my car, and see how it performs against Jeromy's...haha.

I was able to get the DP, WG tube, and Bracing setup fabbed today. Unfortunetly my GF took our camera for fathers day, and won't be back until tommarow. Damn her.

Everything turned out REALLY well though! I can't wait to get these pics.

This is going into my wife's ls/vtec '89 hatch. Stock motor, 67mm turbo, it should be a relative "low" boost setup... shooting for 125-130mph traps
