As mentioned in a previous post. Im looking to drop. I got a good deal on some springs from a local mechanic who had them on his EP3 before he sold it last month.

Brand wasnt discernable, but he said they'd go 2" drop.

I have 16"rims with standard thickness wheels (saving up for the nice low profile ones), so that should tuck the wheel just at the outside fender.

Anyone else have any experience with 2" drops on stock?

nope it aint too muchh but i mean how beefy are the tires? they should tuck but the badd thing about a 2 inch drop on dc5's are like any other dropped car when u turn its gunna rub

The Tires are P165, so about 3.5"-4" thickness.

And forgive my ignorance, but what will be rubbing?

I have a 2.25" drop on stock 16's and using Ingall's camber kit front and rear. I have no problems with rubbing at all. You may have a problem with rubbing if you're using the factory shocks, I'm using Koni adjustables.

i'm on skunk2 adjustable coilover//ingalls front and eibach rear camber kits//stock shocks(need new ones soon :

)my ride is getting a little bouncy...honestly i don't know the exact measurements..but all 4 are set to pretty much the lowest height..haha..almost positive it's more than 2 inches..

my tires are 205/45/16..i don't rub at all..but i bet the bottom of my exhaust piping is pretty scratched up..

I got a 2 inch drop on my type s and its 100% fine. It wont rub the stock wheels and tires. I got 17 inch konigs and they dont rub with a 2 inch drop. However you'll definetely need a rear camber kit. The front should be fine but the rear is a must. Ingalls makes a good kit for about 115 shipped.

Ass is sagging to much. Raise the back a bit and it's sick(my own 2 cents).

It's probably putting a lot of stress on the power steering and the boots. Not to many people think about this when they lower their cars. When the power steer starts to leak out of the boots, it's expensive to replace.

you talking about mine rev?..

it looks like the rear is lower because the arch on the front fenders is higher than it is in the rear..the rear kind of has a shorter arch and is more longer than the front..the coilovers are all pretty much the same height..unless the rear shocks are shorter than the fronts?..i denno..but yeah you can easily tell the rear kind of "looks" lower..

How easy are lowering springs to install by yourself? Ive heard you need a spring compressor, but coilover spring kits dont.

its not bad but i'll never do my own again
i had trouble with it at the time
difficultly - 5/10 (for me)

i didn't use a spring compressor since my car was new (1 month old)
but i would use one just in case anyways
you can rent one for free at autozone

It's not hard. I did mine on my spec-v. You just have to be carefully to make sure the spring is in the compressor nice and tight so it doesn't blow your head off or makes a sky light in your roof.

You don't need a spring compressor to do it. If you have someone push on the spring so you can get the nut started then you're in business. I've done many a suspensions that way.

its for your saftey, why not use a compressor

yeh it is pretty bouncy...just about ready to order my shocks..any suggestions?
what would be the best shocks to get for skunk2 adjustable coils?..not trying to hop on autocross status..looking for a chill ride but still with that sexy lightweight bounce..nothing too violent..definitely not like what my car is getting to right now...and i still wanna be able to take turns pretty fast with good grip

Whether your tires will rub depends on (generally) the following: ride height, tire size, rim width/offset, and camber. So with that in mind, post up what you have instead of generalizing that a 2" drop will not rub.

I hear KONI YELLOWs are great plus they have a firm adjustment too.

A 2" drop on an RSX might look better to some people, but it will not perform nearly as well as a 1-1.5" drop. The reason being that the suspension geometry is negatively affected below 1.5" drop in such a way that it hurts handling no matter what shocks and springs you are using.
