Default fixed gear bicycle

Eh, I still ride one, but it's not for the hipster in me.

Since I get so much traffic from this post, here's a gallery that actually works....

http://donnanphotography.com/p...ixies/

Pretty bikes, not my own though. Andy Jordans bicycle shop has em.

YOU KNOW IT! Without VTEC all hope is lost, we all know that already, its been proven countless times.

Bike looks nice, needs a drop and some rotas.

Only if more people rode a bike to work if its within range people wouldnt have to be paying 3 bucks a gallon

as far as i know it there isn't a 'scene' of kids with fixies here, and yes i use my brakes, i value my life, and my knees, baby steps my friend. no brakes may look cooler, but no brakes isn't smart when you are in traffic and you have to stop quick. sure i could enter a skid, but that's equally dumb

I wouldnt say its dumb, if you know what you are doing you shouldnt have a problem. once you ride for a while you will get used to it. I have been riding track bikes on the streets for going on 10 years. never had brakes, and I have never had a problem. I live in a city and I've riden in DC, NY, and many other city's without a problem.....

heres my current set up

i don't think i'd bike 15 miles daily, unless it's normal to sweat at work and you live on a fairly non-hilly area

then again, what do i know, i'm just an office newb

meh, they're borderline comfy. i'd prefer them over a flat bar probably or the full bullhorns but i can't see them being the most comfortable for longer rides

by the way, http://www.bikecoalition.com it's the honda-tech of biking people, come on over

Why is fixed cooler than having different gears?

I'm just trying to understand.

i did a 3x9, 2x9 e13, 1x7 w/e13, and a 1x3 (limited rear mech movement on the h/l adjust)...but god...i'd never go single
