It all depends on the paint. Different paint takes different times. Some you can do right away..some you have to wait till it hardens alittle..

I know you used rustoleam and its not going to tell you how long...hmm, let me think about that..I will get back to you.

thanks for taking time to post this write up.

i think you should touch on "how to remove moisture from your pneumatic setup" and "how to properly do an atomization test".

tip-for the people using 1/4" hose and 1/4" fittings, replace the hose and fittings with 3/8". hvlp stands for high volume low pressure. by increasing the size of the fittings you'll get more air volume and the paint will atomize better.

another tip-always set air pressure at the gun with the trigger pulled. meaning install a gage right before the gun, adjust air pressure at the wall mounted reg, and finally remove gage from the gun. This helps compensate for the pressure drop through your hose.

question-what should be used to apply rubbing compound and glaze before buffing?

The weatherstriping will do that over time. It just pops out....some are harder to get out then others but they just pop out.

Depends which model. For the EG/EJ models, the sides of the front just pop out. The top can be cut out but can't be replaced properly without pulling the window. Same goes for the back and rear quarters, althought I know of a few people who have managed to tuck the rear quarters into place with a lot of time and patience on hatchs. Hope that helps.

this is a great job as all have said learned alot and at a crucial time ... my question is should you allways spray a self etching primer over raw metal and then if you have a nasty surface where a high build primer is needed then should you just spray that over the self etching

APPLYING BASECOAT/CLEARCOAT

More and more Vehicles have basecoat/ clearcoat finishes, it is very important to become fmailiar with them. You must first spray the color basecoat over the repair area.

it would be a strange coincidence
anyways i dont know if you answered this but i have bare metal, filler, and old paint all showing so should i use self etching primer then go over that with a high build primer and do my sanding trying not sand through the self etching primer so as too keep the raw metal in prime ?
