Default Re: 2005 Type-S SKUNK2 MEGA POWER REVIEW (Rev4Ever)

I did this thread becuase when I was in the process of searching for the right exhaust for me I had to search alot, so here's one exhaust off the list.

2.364" in
4.0188" out

1(worst) - 5(best) scale:
Loudness: 4.6
Sound: 5
Fitment: 5
Power Gain: 3.5

To start out this isn't my first exhaust I have ever owned and installed by myself:

Loudness is kinda high, but what's odd is that it louder at lower RPM's and once V-Tec kicks it has a totally different sound that's very hard to describe.
Sound is fantastic. It's filled with lots of bass and it's not high pitched at all.
Fitment was absolutely easy. Everything fell into place and as you can see from the photos the muffler looks good coming out of the bumper.
Power Gain was noticable, but this is the very first performance modification on this car. More mods would work better with it.

All in all I'm very happy with the exhaust all together. I would highly recommend this exhaust.

GUYS, MAKE SOME REVIEWS ABOUT YOUR EXHAUSTS.

I agree. I recommended this muffler to Rev4Ever when he was still searching. The Skunk2 on my EP3 sounds great and gives very good power gains.

johnclaunch & ACO512 thanks. I wished there were more of these type of posts with huge pics and good descriptions since it would have made my exhaust buying easier.

I love it though

I had a Skunk2 (not sure of the model) on my 92 EG hatch,
It sounded nice with the silencer on,
but when taken off, i'd get a headache hearing it.
Maybe it's because the engine didn't sound good itself.
I dont know. I'm looking.

Complete different engine sound comapred to K20's. The skunk that's made for K20 is different from the 92 EG too.

Definitely not comparable. I'll post sound Video on youtube.com soon and post link.

I can tell you live in the north. That stock exhaust looks horrible from weather.

What do you men?
60mm is what the majority of after market exhausts are.

not ideal for going NA route though, i think that's what he means. its best to go 2.5" or 3" for NA

Oh, i see if that's what he means. I think it's fine though for me, since I never really plan on going NA crazy. Majority of the RSX exhausts are 60mm anyway. There aren't enough exhaust choices out there that soprt those sizes unless you want custom tubing and then just buy a name brand universal muffler.
