Default Hydro Lock :l

Havent posted here in awhile... but the other day i was driving and it was raining really hard. I figured "oh $#^!" im gonna hydrolock. And then what do you know, my car starts sputtering, and the CEL blinks a few times and my car shuts down... luckly i had enough speed to pull over to the shoulder. And after sitting for a few minutes, i try to start back up, it doesnt. But i wait another 5 minutes and it starts back up again... but when driving, it seems like the car is weak, and the RPMs are acting funny. Usually, the car idles at right below 1k. after the whole hydro thing, it would idle @ 1 then rev itself to 2, and back down again. this is all with no clutch, and the car in neutral... even when rolling. but just yesterday, it stopped that, and seems as if everything is back to normal... Except for the CEL that just came on... My friend told me to go get a diagnostic and compression test, which i will.. Any other advice? thanks guys.

That's sucks man. Must have been one hell of a puddle. That's exactly why I don't want to get a CAI becuase I don't want to deal with the shitty chicagoland weather.

Yeah stupid oklahoma... one day its 55 and sunny, the next day its 85 and and there are tornados. I miss my home in Los Angeles where its constantly 75 and sunny. Any how, there are no Acura dealerships within the local Area, only Honda. I hate rain. Bump

What intake were you running?

That way I can FAQ this thread, and whenever someone spouts off in a CAI thread about how good they are and that you'll never injest water I can point to this.

yea, i got the same problem on my rsxts, i took it to a dealer to have it checked out and this is what they told me. 2 cylinders are losing compression, 2 are misfiring, bad head gasket, possibly bent valves and valve stems or rods, or whatever connects to them. buddy of mine said a lot of stuff could be f'd, will know soon what all has to be done exactly when the head gets taken off. anybody else had anything like this? i got three and a half months till i get my license back, so no rush, but if i gotta change a bunch of stuff, i want it done right, and more power too. help me!

If your replacing all that and going into the motor that deep you have to do some internal work like cams and kit to go with it like the springs and valves. Do it up man

Suck, but forces you a to make your car crazy fast. Good luck on the project and post back with the exact detail on all that is F..KED up.

My car did that once when I first got it (mind you I bought it used). Except it wasn't like raining or anything it just did that once and when I was trying to drive in the parking lot the car kept jerking and it would rev between 1K-2K in idle and even when driving slowly. I turned off the car, turned it back on and it has never done it again since...

Compression test first. Could just be a fouled sensor.

Changing the oil doesn't magically fix a bent connecting rod.

"advise"? How does this thread "advise"? Oh, I get it, you meant "advice", that makes sense now.

Maybe when you open a thread you should check the post dates and not make an ass out of yourself.

Your English sucks fat cawk. Honestly, you're getting your panties in a bunch over nothing. I just stated that you should check the post dates before you bump an old thread for no reason. I was trying to help you out.

PS: if you don't like it here, leave. We don't want you around either, so the feelings you're having right now, totally mutual.
