So what do you have againist Code Alarm? I've had a few, never had any problems. Are there specific models, sensors to avoid?

The problem that I had with Code Alarm is that I worked at Circuit City, we carried them, but we all hated them. Why? Because half the time they didn't work right out of the box. The other half of the time they came back with problems. We hate R&R'ing defective products. We hate when the customer gets pissed off at us for it. All my co-workers refused to install them and finally Circuit City stopped carrying them.

Circuit City fired all their senior installers and then offered them their jobs back at a lower rate. None of my former coworkers took them up on that offer. Now I work at Best Buy. A lot of best buy's still suck in the install bay. It all comes down to the individual installer and the shop supervisor. Find a good store and stick to it.

Was that a specific product line made for CC? Did you carry the Elite stuff? I know how product quality can wane when large chain stores ask for special lines, and subsequent special pricing. WalMart is notorious for this kind of "brand killing".

No offense, but I've never been a fan of the "box stores", but they definitely have a market, and you guys provide a decent product for a decent price....most of the time. I think that often you are limited by the product quality, and get the bad rep of your bad products...unfairly. I've been out of the business for years, but I had thought about going there in "times of desperation", then I remembered I'm too old and fat to install professionally anymore anyway.....lol....thanks for the info

Anyone know a place in the Dallas area for a stealth install that I can trust?

I had a Viper installed a few years ago and it was installed horribly and no longer works.

In my opinion if a company has a line of products that are pure crap, then their top of the line is just slightly better quality crap.

Hornet, DEI's bottom tier, works perfectly and reliably. It's cheap because it doesn't have any features.

If you had a Viper professionally installed and it took a shit, send it out to DEI and they'll warranty it.

I'm not familiar with Autopage's line. I've installed a few and thought they were pretty decent for a cheap brand.

Anyone interested in becoming a guinea pig for our Zenesis line of alarms?
Before "flaming" it, please check out the details on here:
http://www.honda-tech.com/zero...26718

It's made by EASYCAR (http://www.easycaralarms.com) and sold by 180tuning.com.

Easycar was developed by the LEAD ENGINEER from Compustar, and it's currently #2 in sales after Compustar in Korea. Safe to say, we're Compustar's newest competitor.

We will offer the alarm for half the price (partial subsidization sponsorship) to the "guinea pig" testor.

The tester MUST BE someone with good experience in alarms, and carry a reputation for knowledge in this field / market.

He/she must also not be affiliated with any other brand (sponsorship), reseller, etc.

Let me know guys~ we'll only get one to do this!

I'll try it. I want to see the install manual first. If it gets here and it's crap, I'm sending it right back. If it's good, it will be featured in my next writeup. version6.EG I've been wanting to do a stealth/remote start alarm install into my Civic and replace the alarm that I put in there 4 years ago.

Look in my sig if you want to see my last writeup.

Look at the top of my post where it says "Re: (180tuning)".

I didn't say "stealth remote". I said "stealth/remote start". If you don't know what a stealth install is you may want to look at the other sticky.

Would it be possible to install a alarm/remot start at home? I have NO CLUE whatsoever who would install car alarms local. I live in a town with a radius of 4 miles.

Difficult. But none of us know what you're capable of. Do you have installer tools?

I just got the Compustar Pro P2WSSR installed. Apparently I was the first one to get it. I'll try to do a review once I begin playing with the unit

there is a company that make a tracking device i sell for 500 installed called mobile gaurdian the way it works is by hooking up to the existing siren output to get a trigger and it also provides a starter interuppt output. you can track locate and disable your alarm from any web access or by calling them. you will also be able to go online locate the vehicle call police and retrieve your car. THERE IS NO MONTHYL FEE BUT!!! you only get 5 locates. after that you will need to pay hopefully your car doesn't go missing more than once.
