The 1G Civic 1200's are that light. The CVCC 1G are quite a few pounds heavier.

A 2G is going to be at least 1800lbs ++ unless there is some major weight reduction. Even removing the bumpers won't do much; they only weigh about 5lbs. They look small, but my 2G is actually larger in some dimensions than my brothers '89 hatchback.

Factor in driver weight, and a swapped 2G is about on par with a swapped CRX HF performance wise.

1800-1900 sounds about right. I have an 83 and it's not as light as you'd think it would be. Even at 1900lbs you should be able to run very low 14's if not high 13's.

How big of a wheel can you fit under there without modifying the wheelwell? I had a set of fat fives laying around and I've always wondered if I could stuff them under there. Some nice panasport knock-offs would look cool

Not to hijack the thread but here is my 2G. Haven't driven it in... 5 years? Had good tires on it but it's been out of the garage for the last 3 years without moving so I'm guessing the tires might have developed flat spots and need to be replaced.

With the recent rise in gas prices I've been thinking about getting this running again and using it to drive to work and school. The GSR gets 33-ish mpg, and the SR 240 isn't even an option right now.

I don't even remember what a stock 2G gets as far as mpg. At least I'd be able to use shitty Safeway un-leaded.

15" fit just fine..go 195/50. 205 rubs on the strut from what I've been told, unless you've got a perfect offset.

15 x 7 with 195/50 tires in 4 x 4 mode. lol

http://server4.pictiger.com/im...a.jpg

As far as gas mileage....I used to get 40++...the engine has 220K on it now and it's getting tired. Now it hovers at 30ish. I'll eventually swap it, but I've got too many projects going on and it's going slow.

That is exactly what I was thinking about. They look like panasports.. not sure if they are real or not but you can find cheap knock-offs of those rims.

Wow that is the cleanest 2G I've seen. Did you repaint it?

What is the chassis code for the 2nd gen?

Know of any good sites that have information on these cars? I had a bunch of stuff saved back in the day but I've since lost it.

ccvcvtec: how hard was the wiring? what did you need from the donor car?

Rota RB's look very similar. They make a 13x8. Not sure if they have the correct size you need.

I believe these are RB's on a VW Rabbit. They look sick.

Yeah these wheels are sick and I think they are fairly cheap as well. There is a guy on HondaTech that has some of the best prices I've seen on Rotas. Finding the correct tires for it should be fun.

http://www.honda-tech.com/zero...e=274

$100 for both axles isn't bad at all. At first I was thinking that would be pretty expensive to get done.

Let's see more pics of the car running. How does it feel driving around? Can you notice the additional weight in the front?

You're not going to find any solid info about a swap bro. They're not bolt in, and everybody has their own way of doing things.

You may run across a how-to that will look something like this:

Remove old engine.
Drop in new engine and fab mounts.
Cut custom axles.
Complete wiring.

Perhaps the best collection of photos (which for these cars is about as close to "information" as you can expect to find) is on Cardomain.

You'll see many guys over seas with B series swaps in these cars.

I guess what I was asking was for other build threads/web sites like this thread that details the swap itself. I know there are numerous ways to go about things and that is part of the reason I'd like to read up as much as I can before I jump into this project. I'm like you... I've got more than one project right now so time is a big factor in doing this.

I remember going to HIN around 02-03' in Seattle and seeing 2 cvcc's with LS swaps in them, and thinking oneday I need to build one of those. Seeing your car/build makes me want to build me one of those.

Funny you say that because I saw the same thing and thought how great of an idea that would be to do.
