You can do everything you mentioned above, but if you limit it to that, you're asking for trouble.

The single most important piece to upgrade when building an LSVTEC is the rod bolts.

The ARP rod bolts eliminate the stretching habit the stock units have, and are the cheapest insurance for your engine out of all the other parts you'll be putting in.

They cost $35-$40, and they save LSVTEC's.

I recommend doing a search on your topic before making another thread to ask a question such as this.

Good luck.

Also, be careful of how high you rev. Stock pr4 pistons do not have valve reliefs for a vtec head. If you are not careful, you could have some piston valve contact.

you only need a gsr oil pan if using the gsr girdle. otherwise the b16 and ls oil pans are the same.

The gridle increase rigidity at the 2, 3, and 4 main caps. This lowers the blocks vibration response amplitude at high rpms. Thus making the block more stable.

thanks for the info...so how do you use a gsr girdle on an ls block without changing the mains? is it an extra piece or do you need gsr main caps and a line bore?

disregard if its a dumb question...im just curious
